I see far too many of his mistakes put on his line and receivers by a good group of people when the fact of the matter was that he fucked up. He doesn't get blamed near enough for his mistakes.

Up until now since Cutler has been in Chicago he has not once had a productive offensive coordinator/coach, no offensive line help, no weapons to spread the ball to, overall had no support. Considering all that Cutler did everyone on his own to try to make plays because he wasnt getting help which led to a ton of mistakes. For his situation he is not overrated at all. Not that he finally has an offensive minded coaching staff (Help him work on footwork), a line that will actually be effective at blocking and the ability to spread the ball around, he could be more towards the underrated side than overrated. Obviously he has to perform to prove he is underrated but this is the 1st time in his career he has all the tools around him to make him the best player possible.

I dont get why people are putting Cutler and Rivers as overrated QB's. They are mediocre QBs that belong in the middle of the pack on the list of Top QB's and thats exactly where they stand to this day and arent earning top QB money. If after this year Cutler gets huge Tony Romo type of money than yes I would agree and say he is overrated because he shouldnt be making that type of money.

This is why they are on the list. They are mediocre at best with no pressure of QB competition. Their team brings in emergency back up #2s instead of #2s who can actually compete for the starting role. What have either done to warrant such an easy ride?

Ok if you are going to put Cutler on your list than you have to include Philip Rivers as well because he is just as bad if not worse.

It's not a "bad" QB list, it's an overrated QB list.

And Cutler is one of the most underrated players in all of football. He just has 0.0 seconds before a defender is in his face every play. He needs an OL like David Carr did in Houston.

When he's been given time to throw, the dude had been great.

True, but the fact that they have the 2 best rosters (and 2 of the best coaches) in the NFL suggests they will. Just my little preseason prediction.

SF and Ravens have the 2 best rosters in the NFL going into 2013?

SF doesn't even have the best roster in their division.

This post is exactly my point. Nothing is ever his fault.

The difference between Rivers & Cutler is simple, Rivers has lost all of his weapons. The WR's on the Chargers SUCK. Mathews has fumblitis. Sure he's been bad the last 2 years, but the truth is A.J. Smith & the Spanos family let Rivers & all Chargers fans down.

This is a make or break year for Cutler. If he blows it he won't be a Bear the following season.

Well I never had high expectations for Cutler in Chicago so in my eyes he is not overrated at all. I saw him as a QB with a huge arm and with a lot of potential but was to selfish to learn the ways to become a better QB. Someone overrated to me is a player like Tony Romo who gets a huge extension before the season and has yet to prove anything in the NFL. Obviously we all have different meanings of overrated I was just wondering why some people though Cutler and didnt think Vick or Rivers was.

Ive already said on here a few times Cutler has made some stupid mistakes playing with the Bears but added those things dont help to contribute to them. If we had Brady or Rodgers playing for us the last few years you would call them overrated as well because they wouldnt have produced anything.

Maybe you should use the word "possibly" as it has not been proven that they don't have the best roster in the division

Well according to that one user making up "excuses" doesnt factor into how the QB plays.

JDM I am still confused on why you think I am making up excuses for Cutler possibly under performing. The Fact is they had no offensive line, no offensive weapon and no offensive coaches to really help that offense out, How is Cutler supposed to be the QB he has the potential of being?

They would both still be pro bowlers. Cutler made stupid mistakes consistently far before he was a Bear.

That may be an excuse for not playing great. That is not an excuse for consistently making awful choices when you have decent ones available. Cutler makes bad choices. That doesn't just mean he takes risks. It means he will miss the open guy to throw a lob into double coverage.

If you had Rodger or Brady playing for the Bears the past 3 years they would not have made the Pro Bowl hahaha. Sorry but when you have someone like Martz and his 7 step drop system in place with a horrible offensive line, no matter who your QB is they are not going to play well. When you have coordinators who cant get the play in to you on time, cant create plays to get your WR's open or have no idea how to use a TE thats not the QB's fault.

Even when Cutler was in Denver beside Marhsall he did not have much of a supporting cast. He didnt have the coaching staff who was going to sit down with him and really work with him like Trestman has been.

I understand that but its not like he ever had Aaron Rodgers capability and than starting playing worse and worse. He was a mediocre QB from the beginning with a lot of talent and still is a mediocre QB with a lot of talent. You cant be overrated if you were never supposed to be the best or one of the best.

1.Matt Ryan Can't get it done in the postseason.
2.Cam Newton Lots of hype, needs to be more consistant.
3.Tony Romo I can't believe this guy makes the amount of money he does. Nobody CHOKES like Romo.
4.Jay Cutler This guy was supposed to be the Bears savior. When they acquired him many Bears fans thought their team was Super Bowl bound. They were wrong.
5.Peyton Manning Pleny of accolades have come his way during his career. He's still one Super Bowl behind his brother & every team knows he can't throw the ball on the run. We all saw what happened in OT against the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Heck if the Bears had a decent QB instead of Rex Grossman, Peyton Manning wouldn't have a ring.

Haters make up anything to discredit Manning success. Now the QB he plays against is not good enough, when the Bears had one of the best defense and the Colts still score 30+. Just ignore the comeback Peyton lead against the Pats 2 wks before. Ppl seem to forget football is a team sport and not a 1 on 1 against QBs.
