1)5). GB. No doubt Rodgers is one if the best, but stupidly lost big WR weapon to rival. D still looking questionable. Got a running game, but rookies.

please explain to me how the Vikings severely overpaying Jennings was GB stupidly losing him? He is not worth 9 mil a year no way no how. He has not played a full season in 3 years and caught 36 balls last year for 360 yards and 2 TD's. How is that a big loss?

Just wondering why in the world you think Peyton doesn't have a 91% chance to play in 10 games this year considering other than his one missed season he has never missed a game? Everybody last year kept screaming that he would break first hit of the year but he made it through a full season with his worst injury being a cut open finger that he hit on a helmet. Throw in Peyton has made it to 10 straight playoffs (I guess 10 of 11 if you count the season he didn't play in). I can understand if you would say they are being overhyped for the Superbowl but to actually make the playoffs that is just ridiculous to say that is being overhyped.
A 90% is something you save for teams like the Miami Heat to make the playoffs. The Denver Broncos will probably make the playoffs but there are so many scenarios that could happen where they don't. Peyton was excellent last year but he is old. Von Miller is one of the 20 best players in football and he is missing some time.

The Broncos also have a second problem: they won't be able to keep leads. Their run game looks subpar and their pass rush looks depleted. Most of the time, just having Peyton is enough to get around those problems but the NFL does stand for Not For Long and Peyton has to regress at some point.

1). SF - Secondary sucks. Gore on the wrong side of 30. Crabs was 50% of their passing attack.

2). Ravens. Lost too much of the vet core that got them to the SB. Weak at WR.

That's gonna look like a silly prediction when they're both in the Super Bowl again.

I'm not a huge fan but there is a lot of data out there. Certainly the Falcons beating the Niners last year wouldn't have been beyond the pale

Recent history suggests neither is making it back to the Super Bowl this year

True, but the fact that they have the 2 best rosters (and 2 of the best coaches) in the NFL suggests they will. Just my little preseason prediction.

Couple of things...I do agree that the NFL has probably one of the higher turnover ratios of good teams and bad teams. Having said that there is a reason that the Patriots and the Colts almost every year were in the playoffs. Having an elite quarterback plays a huge in the success of a team. Now you mentioned Peyton and him getting up in age but it is not like quarterbacks his age haven't had success in the past. John Elway did not win a Superbowl until he was 37 (same age as Peyton now). Throw in Peyton's success in his career has never been based off his physical skills but by his mental advantage that he has on almost everybody else in the league. Last year at this time he could barely throw over 15 yards where now he has said and many that have watched have reported his arm is even stronger than last year where he threw for 4,600 yards.

You hinted towards the pass rush which yes could take a step back but it isn't like the Broncos did nothing to replace the loss of Dumervil. They brought in a guy named Phillips who only had 1 sack less than Dumervil last season and that was without having an elite pass rusher on the other side of him. They brought in some help at DT and Wolfe who had 6 sacks last year is no longer a rookie. Throw in they brought in some secondary help that should help get a few more coverage sacks.

The run game is the big question mark as they do have a ton of young players at the position. Having said that Moreno last year in his short stint as a starter showed he can be a good running back and many have pretty high hopes for Ball to be a good all around back. I guess time will tell. Another part of this though is Peyton hasn't always had a good running attack to support him and has still had success. So even if the run game is average at best the Broncos can still have success (plus those years were usually with a pretty pathetic defense to help support him as well where the Broncos at least last year finished 3rd on defense).

Id agree with much of what you wrote. Wolfe and Phillips are good players. Von Miller is just on a whole different level and every year there is a favorite or 2 that starts off slowly and struggles to get back to expectations. Denver seems to have established itself as the prohibitive favorite in the AFC and I just think that they are a good team.

Romo
Rivers
Eli

I dont get why people are putting Cutler and Rivers as overrated QB's. They are mediocre QBs that belong in the middle of the pack on the list of Top QB's and thats exactly where they stand to this day and arent earning top QB money. If after this year Cutler gets huge Tony Romo type of money than yes I would agree and say he is overrated because he shouldnt be making that type of money.

I can understand that. I agree Miller is on a whole different level than those guys and if he is lost for any number of games it will definitely hurt. How much I do not know. Now it has come out today that the Miller situation is getting more and more complicated and there is some mystery surrounding it all. So there is a chance he will beat it but even if he doesn't I would guess the Broncos offense should average over 30 points a game this season even if they have an average run game. So if the defense can hold teams to the mid 20's through those first few games they should at least be able to come out of the first 4 2-2 at worst.

But hey that is why they play the games and we will find out soon enough whether the Broncos have been overhyped or not.

If Von Miller is playing from the start, I think the team deserves all of the hype and Id take them off my 'overrated' list. In the same ESPN segment, they showed stats last year with Miller on the field and Miller off the field. The difference in opponents QBR was like going from facing QBs having Marc Sanchez and Brady Quinn types of success to teams having Drew Brees and Eli Manning types of success.

I know that but you get paid based on the way you play. I am just wondering why you think Jay Cutler is overrated? I think they rank him perfectly for the way he plays on the field and thats a mediocre QB who could make a lot of the big plays on the field but also contributes to a lot of mistakes.

I see far too many of his mistakes put on his line and receivers by a good group of people when the fact of the matter was that he fucked up. He doesn't get blamed near enough for his mistakes.

1.Matt Ryan Can't get it done in the postseason.
2.Cam Newton Lots of hype, needs to be more consistant.
3.Tony Romo I can't believe this guy makes the amount of money he does. Nobody CHOKES like Romo.
4.Jay Cutler This guy was supposed to be the Bears savior. When they acquired him many Bears fans thought their team was Super Bowl bound. They were wrong.
5.Peyton Manning Pleny of accolades have come his way during his career. He's still one Super Bowl behind his brother & every team knows he can't throw the ball on the run. We all saw what happened in OT against the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Heck if the Bears had a decent QB instead of Rex Grossman, Peyton Manning wouldn't have a ring.

Understandable...he is huge for the team and like you said on the field they deserve the hype without him those first 4 games could be a little bit more nail biters as a bronco fan. I guess we will find out in a couple of weeks what happens to him. It came out today that his suspension has nothing to do with a failed drug test but that he violated some rule because he was in the NFL drug program like missing a mandatory drug test. There are many sources that are saying they think he will beat this so fingers crossed on that one.

Ok if you are going to put Cutler on your list than you have to include Philip Rivers as well because he is just as bad if not worse.
