Damnit. I'd like to see that JP hit from another angle... any chance at all Haggerty could have scored, they should have been sending him.
Servais disagrees so naturally I agree. Send him!!! I send him based on the odds of getting another hit against an All-Star closer. My thoughts as well. You have to force them to make a play to get you out at home.
A lot can go wrong with a throw from the outfield - relay man catch / pivot and throw to home - catcher must be in position and cleanly receive the relay throw AND get a clean tag down on the advancing runner AND hold onto the ball. Any 1 thing goes awry ... and safe at home.
You have to send the near fastest guy on the team in that situation.

Should've definitely gave Andrus a look... look like he's been a great addition for the White Sox with just minor league contract.
They traded for Lamb for him to only see 21 ABs so far.
Which Gilbert are we getting tonight? He was better in his last outing, but had a pretty bad stretch going back to the AS break.
Tough match up either way, but whether or not they win, you still want to see Gilbert upright before the end of the month. He has to be one of your 3 in the ALWC series.
I usually agree with you, but I can't on this. Lamb has been a turd since 2018 season on. His shoulder injury back in 2018 just killed his career. And Elvis is only 3 years older.Lamb still needs some polishing up ... but he is far from a turd.
Lamb was an All-Star in 2017 with 30 HRs and 105 RBIs with .844 OPS. In previous year, he hit 29HRs.Yea it appears that way, you never know what the front office is thinking.
They most likely looked primarily at age, w/ Lamb being much younger.
Then they looked at highest possible ceiling and gave the nod to Lamb due to his young age and sheer physical presence.

ALWCS is a best of 3 so Castillo, Ray, and Gilbert have to be your 3. Which one you hold back for game 3 is up for debate, but not which 3.Correct
If I am the skipper I run out:
games:
1. Ray
2. Castillo
3. Gilbert ( with a short leash and any sign of trouble in comes Brash )
4. Kirby ( with Brash at the ready if he is not used in game 3 )
5. back to Ray ( even on short rest )
*note Gonzalez riding the pine all 3 WC games, possible innings eater if we are up by 8 runs late in a game
** note I would never bring in Brash mid innings w/ runners on however
But if in Toronto, does Ray pitch? No vacs, no play. I heard he wasn't vaccinated any who.ALWCS is a best of 3 so Castillo, Ray, and Gilbert have to be your 3. Which one you hold back for game 3 is up for debate, but not which 3.
Who goes in which order for the best of 5 in the next round is a different story. Not a slam dunk to use 4 even there, but depends on how things are going.
Well he wasn't as of when they went there. No one knows for sure if he would change his mind should that scenario seem imminent, but I'd be entirely fucking pissed if he couldn't go on the M's first playoff bid in 21 years and they lost 2-1.But if in Toronto, does Ray pitch?
