We'll send out Kuechel, Gonzalez, and Cease. Their only probable listed is for Game 1 with 22 year old left hander Kris Bubic - making his major league debut. He is the #96 overall MLB prospect according to Baseball Prospectus. Very nice minor league numbers from Bubic. 2.59 ERA 11.4 K/9 2.4 BB/9 0.4 HR/9.
Granted, he's never pitched above high-A ball and has only 187 professional innings under his belt. Nonetheless, he's regarded as a solid prospect and has performed well.
I view this as a big series. We all talked about having to take care of business vs DET and KC. Well, here we are. After dropping 2 of 3 to MIN and CLE. In 60 game season, this is as close to a MUST win series as you can have this early on, IMO.
2nd time through the rotation. Let's hope that guys have shaken the rust off a bit. Giolito sure did.
