Of course! When you mentioned the pics, that jogged the ol' memory. He had a bunch of blurry, out-of-focus pics of some African American dude standing in front of the signage at some base camp. We always said those must have been pictures of his father!

Counting my stepdaughters, I have survived the teenage years of 3 girls, one of whom was a cheerleader. I thank my son on a daily basis for not being a girl.

SocalJim reminds me of this guy that used to be on the CBS boards a LOOOONG time ago. He called himself "DiehardUSMC" and was a Trojan fan. The guy was wound as tight as as the pope's chastity belt and was legendarily unfunny, took everything seriously and missed every joke lobbed at him.

The funniest thing was, nobody actually believed for a second that he was ever in the military. When ever he was asked how he served, he always responded like R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket: "0300, infantry," but could never actually give a unit name or any other sort of specific identifier, like most veterans do.

Tell me about it. Of the two older kids my step son was a fucking breeze. Kid is now at Penn State after getting out of the Navy. 3.96 grades and he's in nuclear engineering ffs.

The older girl took at least 10 years off my life and now my 13yo is just now leaving the event horizon of some sense of sanity on the downward spiral of teen/highschool life. Shits about to get real again.
