Just giving shit. I just OFFICIALLY became old a couple weeks ago. Once you hit the half-century mark, there is no more fooling yourself that you are still in your prime. There is absolutely, positively, more road in your rear-view mirror than in your windshield at this point.

I’ve been throwing my back out since my mid to late 20s and was telling kids to get off my lawn at 17

I don’t recall the last time i didnt feel old

I have had my doctor(s) on speed dial for the last 10 years now. Before that, I didn’t even have a GP. Now I have multiple specialists.

Getting old sucks.

I went to my ortho a while back

They couldn’t find my file for my appt

Went to the back

Turns out they left it back there cause it was too thick to fit in the folder holders at the front desk

I never watched the FP reboot. Peacock just hasn’t had enough on it to entice me to subscribe. The FP show peeked my curiosity, but the fact that Smith is still involved in it makes me hesitant to give it my time. I am not doing a firm boycott of him, I just find I am not interested in any project he is involved in atm…

the SbtB reboot was just beyond ridiculous.

The saved by the bell reboot I feel was meant to be meta. It knew it was too woke. Probably tried to be satire too. Really too much going on which made all the characters too animated. Even the original cast.

Actually that was the real problem with the saved by the bell reboot. It didn’t love the original. It made fun of it.

The FP reboot loved the original. It was just trying too hard to both give the original justice and separate itself from it.

You cant create a nostalgia show and not actually be nostalgic for it

I can accept that “excuse”. The original was equally extremely stupid and over the top. Everything was pastel-paisley. NO ONE wore any of the fashion they had on that show. So if you want to apply that same filter to the reboot, I think that is extremely fair.

I kinda thought (again, without watching it) that Bel Aire was to Fresh Prince as Cobra Kai was to Karate Kid. It took the original frame, but built an entirely different building. Even though BA is a reboot while CK was a continuation, they were both born from fan made YT videos adding new perspectives to the IP.

i went to my GP about a year or so ago for this ailment or that, and he made a point of calling an intern in because I have a rare combination of conditions that he wanted to use me as a teaching moment. I laughed, but I also cried a bit on the inside…

I kinda thought (again, without watching it) that Bel Aire was to Fresh Prince as Cobra Kai was to Karate Kid. It took the original frame, but built an entirely different building. Even though BA is a reboot while CK was a continuation, they were both born from fan made YT videos adding new perspectives to the IP.

Whereas fuller house tried to keep the same frame just with adults who were the kid actors

It’s an interesting theory

Of course CK shows how neither lens was totally accurate

I haven’t watched but the most interesting part to me would be how they handle a Carlton now

When they did everything but call him an UT on the original show and I believe a few characters basically said he’s a white guy with dark skin

Yes. It still shows Daniel as the good guy from HIS POV, but it also brings in the POVs of all the other characters to make them more gray. Particularly Johnny and Chozen. Kreese and Silver, they really just made more comic book bad guy.
