Cam Newton can do it wearing a pink puffy shirt, a fedora, an ascot and tap dancing shoes. In fact he probably has in practice

Matt Cassell could throw the ball 100 yards?

Actually saw him do it three or four times at Gillette practice field. It's really not that uncommon fr those guys.

Patriots just signed the You Tube guy that was kicking 80 yard field goals...........

So what's your point?

It's an irrelevant link.
Number of passes, number of yards, number of TD's has nothing to do with arm strength.
Thread is who can throw the ball 70 yards.
Not who can accumulate the most yards.
Chad Pennington could have made the list in your link.

No, the link is very relevant. You and I disagree on this.

I would say that the list of QB's in the NFL that can't throw the ball 70 yards is pretty short.

Hopefully, Jimmy G isn't on that list. It seems that most Niner fans think he can't. I'm one of the few Jimmy G believers.

He's got a pretty good arm. 70 yards might be at the edge of his range, but I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

I remember watching in 1987 or 1988, and the longest throws I saw were by Randall Cunningham and Jay Schroeder. I think both got into the low 70's.

I heard on the broadcast the other day Allen can throw 100 yards. I’m not sure if they were exaggerating with just a number. But I know that dude has a cannon.

He barely broke a sweat on that one which is ridiculous when you look at the relaxed stance he was in when he released that bomb dime. Made it look like it was pregame warmup practice. Imagine the distance he could get if he went full stance with the legs and went full strength on the arm. Probably getting near the 100yd range.

Back in the day, Randall Cunningham had a cannon. So did John Elway. Even some of the crappy QBs like Jeff George had howitzers for arms. Heck almost anyone AL Davis signed had to have one. It was his sole criteria when evaluating QBs

Now I see where Jason Garrett picked up the clapping. It must've been when he was backing up Troy Aikman.

Seems like Al Davis tried to sign anybody who made it to the Olympic 100 meter final. He probably looked into signing javelin throwers, too. LOL.
