I watched the first 3 quarters of that game, but then I had to leave to pick up my wife and just followed along on the radio. Afterwards, I remember reading comments from Celtics fans that the officials called the game differently in the 4th quarter.

they did

right after the Celtics went up double digits….

I did laugh at that....but it got us a title I never thought I'd see so I'm glad they did it.

Well, Lebron came back and did that, not sure Kyrie was essential. There were a few others in that draft that would've been just as good if not better beside Lebron that didn't go #1 overall. Of course, many others flamed out.

I remember reading that Rasheed Wallace tried to confront the officials after the game. Is that really true?

when they decided to give the Cavs Kyrie, you don't the other owners just said, "whatever you think is best for the league"?

lol

And I'm sure the Maloof Brothers were cool with the losing in the playoffs to the Lakers because we have to make sure the Lakers are good.

That one everyone seems to believe, even though the game in question wasn't even the deciding game in the series.

LOL at Kings/Lakers being fixed. There was still another game to be played; that game didn't decide the series.

I do have a tendency to believe the Jordan one, as well as the lottery fixes. Any time they make the process "too complex to fake" and then make the selections behind closed doors, there is a big opening for the fix to be in. Freezing an envelope? Plausible.

Was the series fixed?

No. I don’t believe so.

Was game 6 fixed? Yes. Or at least the Lakers were intentionally handed every advantage from the officials at the end of the game.

Lakers won game 7 straight up, but the series should have been over in 6.

At least 1 of the officials from that crew even admits that.

Gotta love the "lawjik" of conspiracy theories. Apparently, the NBA is run by the mob.

Kyrie here probably why Lebron willing to come back...and knowing Gilbert would spend. Not sure what you were saying in the rest of your comment.

The only one of the OP's three I believe was the Ewing one...

Two of my favorites:

1) The bubble was created in large part because a LeBron 4th title was crucial for the league's ratings and suspense factor. He by no means could have been allowed to enter his late 30's with still half as many rings as MJ...

2) Ron Artest was suspended for the entire 2004-05 season mostly because the league couldn't fathom a Pacers/Spurs final in wake of the Shaq/Kobe breakup.

The Jordan one for sure.

His retirement was actually a suspension but to officially acknowledge Jordan's gambling and suspend him for it would have killed the NBA.

So a closed-door mutual agreement was met where he would be suspended but they would officially say he retired to save face.
I think that’s dumb. Jordan was the NBA. They would’ve just swept it under the rug if that were the case. There’s no point in a secret punishment.
