I am going with

Reid, McDonald, Tank, Lemonier, Patton, Lattimore (on IR), Moody and Dial

Moody will be a special teamer specialist, it was what he was known for in college.

Cooper, Daniels, and Bykowski make the PS

I agree with your choices of Reid, McDonald, Tank, Lemonier, Patton, Moody and Lattimore on the IR.

However I'm not so convinced taht Cooper, Daniels and Bykowski make the practice squad. With Montana, Marquardt, Okoye, Gray and Morris also fighting for this spot, it will be an uphill battle for those guys. Our UDFA's are extremely talented.

what about rookies from last year, UDFA's from last year? one year players we MIGHT pick up as we go along? don't know, just wondering?

i'd think there will be more competition than just our rookies?

BJ Daniels could end up being 3rd string, the kid is strong, can run the ball and has a big arm. JH called him the swiss army knife, it will be difficult to leave him off the roster

Tolzein has his work cut out for him this year. If Daniels is close in that competition, he should get the nod based on the other skills he brings at other positions/packages. That third QB spot should have the tightest competition along with OLB and DE.

Plus other teams will steal away some guys for their own practice squad or maybe even their own 53

Yes, our practice squad is getting super competitive too and we'll probably lose a few guys just like last year. I wish we could have kept at least one of the PS receivers we lost last year because they probably could have helped us down the stretch.

wouldn't jump too fast to that conclusion, and the reason is our #2 isn't THAT strong? in fact, is it a given McCoy remains #2?

should Kaep be out, don't we want the #2 with the best passing skills? if passing skills is close with the remaining QB's, then the other stuff (SAK) comes into play. the better passing is our best chance to keep the offense balanced. if our #2 is a weak passer, our offense becomes one dimensional.

Maybe it's just me but IMHO, the backup should have the same skill set as the starter... It would be difficult to prepare different game plans when you starter and your backup are not compatible to one another. If your starter goes down, and you back up does not have the same skill set, you would have to adjust your game plan during the game.. That will be chaotic...

ok thats fine.

my opinion is but no big deal. so just to explain........no one is like Kaep, so you'd automatically 'simplify' the offense for another QB.

our playbook has more than enough passing plays per game, so the back-up would throw most of these (he can't throw all), no big change for others on O. our offense can still stay balanced if we can execute these pass plays.

if we're down to our #2 QB, more so we don't want him running the option. he we don't run him, he had better be able to pass.
