You can do that in hockey too, just not on a professional level. I highly doubt the pro teams in rugby are pounding kegs on the field right after the game.

I agree hockey is harder to follow on TV. Part of it is that football fans get to have three commercials to take the time and dissect what just happened. In hockey you must pay attention because the play is almost non stop.

and therefore, alternatively, if you dont partake in tailgate boozing pre-game, attending NFL games live can be pretty mind numbing for some ... stoppage after stoppage

I watch more overall football but since you seperated NFL and NCAA I would say I watch more NHL games than either of those individually.

Conversely, with the NHL I really only watch Sharks games (until the playoffs) but with football I watch any game that I think will be good (plus all of the 49ers games).

I am going to have to vote NHL but only because of the options you gave me. If it were watching by sport only, then I would vote Football.

There are a lot of Pens fans in here who may prefer the Steelers. The NFL board is dead, so just because people talk about hockey, that does not mean that it is their favorite sport to watch. It is a barometer of sorts. All three sports are getting ready to be going together...

I voted NFL. I love the Caps and hockey, but my favorite team has always been and will always be the Redskins.

I voted all equally from a homer perspective...if any of my teams is playing from the choices above, I enjoy them equally. However, if it's teams I don't root for, I'm able to hold my attention to a hockey game over the others.
