I respect OSU's undefeated season......I very much do.

I just don't quite understand all the folks who are putting them at #2 in the country to start the season.

I don't think the B-one-G goes 5-0 over the Directional Michigans.

Okay.......go on thinking that OSU absolutely rolled through their schedule to an undefeated season.

When I said they were lucky to be undefeated I simply meant exactly what Urban himself said......the ball bounced in OSU's favor several times last season......

They crushed Nebraska......that much I will say. But they struggled to knock off plenty of teams.....including Indiana and Purdue

Well I never once said they "absolutely rolled through their schedule", nor did I even allude to it. Way to be overly-dramatic and put words in my mouth.

The ball bounces in every single team's favor several times a year when they go undefeated. I've said several times in other threads that I didn't think OSU was a top 2 team last year and didn't think they would've deserved to be in the NCG. I'm aware they had flaws. That said, they are still the most talented team in the B1G, have an elite head coach, and return a ton of talent from an unbeaten team. Last year was also the first year for every player with not only Urban's scheme but also with nearly his entire coaching staff. Now, they've had a full season and 2 full offseasons. Historically, this spells big time success for an Urban Meyer team. Aside from LB (remains to be seen), they have studs at every position on the field. Braxton spent an offseason with George Whitfield, whose track record speaks for itself when it comes to working with QBs. We have tons of weapons for him at his disposal on offense and it got even better with several incoming freshmen. If they don't deserve the be ranked #2, who does and why do they deserve it over OSU?

Well I don't think OSU is better than any of the following:

Alabama
Georgia
LSU
Florida
Oregon
Stanford

So pretty much any of those....

Alabama, yeah.
Georgia is replacing essentially their entire defense (which wasn't really that good last year anyhow), but has an incredible offense, so OK.
LSU is a joke this year. The fact you think they're better than OSU shows a lot about what you really know.
Florida, I really don't know what to say. The last we saw from them they were getting their asses handed to them by a Big East team.
Oregon, I can see, but they still are breaking in a brand new head coach, which is still a ?
Stanford is replacing way too much on offense.

South Carolina and Clemson are also up there as well......

Though I would probabaly say OSU is around equal to those 2 teams.

Top 10 team for sure......not so sure on the top 5 thing

Man, you need to slooowwwwwww down.

You suddenly forget winning about half of your games last season by single digits over teams from a conference that was piss poor.

Now you're calling out teams from the SEC? Your team would have finished around 5th or 6th in that conference last year........like it or not, that is reality.

I understand what you are saying, but I really think they take the lesser teams for granted and Brax gpt hurt in the Purdue game. The yr they won the NC against Miami they almost lost to Purdue if it wasn't for a late rally. I always have said, every game is different.

And I think this team has more depth, especially on offense they lost some guys on the DL.

Dude, this isn't last year. A lot of those teams you're talking about are very, very different.

Alabama, for starters - the last time they replaced as many starting offensive linemen as they are this year, they lost 3 games.
Georgia, as I said, I can see. Their offense is amazing. That said, as a common opponent, I don't see what you're seeing that makes them better than us.
LSU has been completely decimated on defense by the draft. Their offense wasn't too good last year. They lose 3 of their 4 leading rushers and Zach Mettenberger is horrible. In what way could you possibly say they are better?

Alright.....well I can see that neither of us are going to budge here so I'm not gonna argue any further.

In an attempt to smash this thing, I will say that I fully expect Ohio State to run the table in the BIG.....I just don't think they can beat team SEC.

For the sake of the BIG, I hope they do......but I don't see it realistically happening.

Western returns like 2 guys on Offense......so there is no way in hell they win any of their 3 games.

Gonna have to be Central over Michigan or Eastern over Penn State.

Neither of those would shock me to death.....though I would be somewhat surprised

Western had some underclassmen with snaps. Looks like they rotated a lot.

You kind of never know what you're going to get 'week to week' from the Directional Michigans

You could at least try and support your argument, though. You are basically choosing to define Ohio State only by their few negatives rather than their numerous positives, while not even demonstrating any knowledge of any of the teams you say are better, but only saying they're better because they're in the SEC. I saw 2 of the top teams in the conference lose to teams from the 2 worst BCS conferences this past year, and neither of those 2 teams did anything to get better, yet you think they're better than OSU without explanation. You have given no reason to agree with you.
