part of that might be keeping the rookie from getting in a bad situation and getting injured. but yea, it will be frustrating the first time he rips one for 20 yards and Marv tells him to sit down and hands two bricks to BJGE for 1 to -1 yards

We will see this early and often then after game 8 he is gonna turn him loose when we are 500 and fighting for a playoff spot.... You know I wonder I read somewhere how Marv allowed Gruden to open up the playbook against the Redskins and we looked like the Saints, Packers and NE then after that game we were MartyBALL the rest of the way...Word is that Marv didnt like what Gruden did due to stress on the defense because we were scoring too fast and the defense couldnt keep up...thus the reason RG3 scored 24 in the 2nd half..If you look at the games after our offense NEVER looked that good the rest of the season...

MArtyball 2013 Bengal style again in 2013. Unless Marv Gruden gives the greenlight...and If I was Gruden KNOWING he is gone after 2013 I would say "fuck Marv"! I will find another job" "IM opening this shit up" and I would support Gruden all the way if he does...even though he can frustrate me too.

Gruden is okay..... I think he has had some great game plans and some awful game plans....He's never found a way to make us more efficient on third down. Then again, it's hard to know how much he is limited by his qb.

If Green, Eifert, Sanu, Bernard, and another decent wr are all on the field at the same time, 3rd down conversions should be at an all time high.

who do you want? Blaine Gabbert or Christian Ponder?

Honestly, I'd rather have Dalton than either Gabbert or Ponder, but that still doesn't solve our issues with third down. If he can't improve his deep ball accuracy, he'll continue to face tight underneath coverage on third down. I'm not nearly as down on Dalton as some folks on this board, but I see this as a definite limitation in his game and one that needs to be fixed if he'll ever be more than a serviceable qb.

Dalton definitely needs to improve. It's not out of the question he can, but it's also no sure thing he will. I'm not in the "arm not strong enough" camp as many here are, I'm just not yet sure his inaccuracy downfield and his tendency to panic under stress are easily, or even at all, curable. He's absolutely the biggest question that needs answered for this offense to take the next step forward.
