Imagine you're forming a team, and there are only 2 choices for the backcourt,
Which would you choose?

2 finals, one ring vs 1 finals, no ring
going GS.
GS skills complement each other better as well

I want to go Westbrook/Harden but I don't think I can. Maybe Westbrook changes that perspective with a full year away from Durant but I think both Westbrook and Harden need to be the focal point of the offense whereas Curry/Thompson coexist so nicely.

Depends on who else is on the roster.

If there's 1 or 2 more all-star level players on the team... I'm easily taking Steph & Klay.

If I've got nothing else but mediocre role players... I'll take Westbrook and Harden.

I agree with this. Harden and Westbrook can do more for your team with Avg players. Just like we are seeing right now. Imagine a swithc of Curry and westbrook or Curry and harden. I cant see Houston and OKC playing as well as they are if that switch happen.

Im impressed with how Harden and Westbrook changed their game. They kind moved into that LBJ role for their teams with less talent then James had over the last couple of years. Another player somewhat doing the same is Jimmy Butler.

Just like James these are 3 players you can build around. In my teams case its been fun as hell to watch Butler and Wade as a pair. Just wish our bench would play better. Killing us right now.

you can build around Curry too no doubt about it- he is the 2 time reigning mvp after all.

Curry and Thompson, easily.

The main reason is that Westbrook and Harden possess a duplication of skillsets. Both are at their best with the ball in their hands. It creates the "my turn/your turn" deal with RW and Harden versus being able to play off of each other like Curry and Thompson do. Both create space for each other, which makes their games even better. If you have Westbrook or Harden off the ball, their skill sets are highly diminished.

What you want is for your core to make each other better. There needs to be a contrast or at least an amplifying of the others talents by being able to create for each other. Thompson and Curry do that, without even needing the ball in each other's hands. Just the threat of them out there creates space, not only for themselves, but for others.

Look at it this way, Harden and RW both are the catalysts for their teams. They are what drive their teams. But if they don't have the ball in their hands, how do they compliment each other? Harden is a good shooter so there's some balance with RW with the ball in his hands. However when Harden has the ball in his hands, RW would be in the same exact spot he was with Durant previously. Volume shooter from the perimeter with low efficiency.

I'm going with Curly Neal and Marques Haynes. Now that was a damn good backcourt.

If we're talking pure talent, I'm taking Westbrook and Harden.

If we're talking which backcourt fits together better, I'm going with Curry/Thompson.

Since basketball is a team sport...I'm going Curry/Thompson.

Westbrook and Harden = better individual players, god knows if they'd be able to co-exist right now.

Curry and Thompson = chemistry in place already, better for a team.

In fantasy, give me RW & The Beard. In real life, give me the Splash Bros.
