I think if we have learned anything this year it is not to close the book on some of these QB's just quite yet. I don't think anyone would have predicted Baker, Darnold, Geno Smith for example to be having quite the seasons they are having. Sometimes each of these guys just need the right situation with the right coach to bring out why they were taken as high as they were in the draft.

actually I had faith in Baker doing well. He doesnt surprise me in the least.
Now Darnold & Geno. Were complete shockers. (Geno's 1st season starting for Seattle) I think he is overrated now.
Whats next Zach Wilson goes all pro?

Oh we're pretending Geno is good now. He is above average at best.

As far as Darnold, how many good teams gas he beaten this year?

Same question for Geno?

I'm not sure quality wins is where I would go this year. There are not a ton of great teams. You could maybe argue there are only about 8 or so good teams. For Darnold his team has only lost twice this entire season. And in both games I don't think you can make the argument he is the reason why they lost. In fact he did pretty decent in both of those games but tough when your defense gives up 30+ points.

Lance and Wilson are two of the biggest busts in NFL history. Lawrence, Fields and Jones have had moments of success - Fields was better than I expected in Pittsburgh this year, and it’s pretty apparent he was in a lousy situation in Chicago, Jones was in kind of a lousy situation as well in NE, they didn’t have a strong roster around him, and while Lawrence has been very underwhelming given the high expectations I don’t think he’s in a very good situation either. I could see Lawrence turning it around in a better situation the way Sam Darnold has done this year. Jones and Fields could possibly be okay but I was never high on either of them. Lance and Wilson though are epic busts. I think the Covid madness of 2020 threw everything off with this class.

Geno's an average QB. Good in-between the 20's but completely falls apart in the redzone. Case in point last week against GB throws that hideous pick in the EZ. Just throw the damn ball away. The Geno experiment is thankfully done.

In terms of Mac Jones, has there ever been a QB prospect that was in the league for 4 years and got worse every year?

I could see Lawrence and fields having a long career. Lawrence might even figure it out and become a quality starter. Baker, Darnold, and Geno all seem like good football players that needed time to adapt. Zac Wilson and Trey Lance don’t.
