Don't start using fact on here, just post with gut feelings and try to gauge emotions from your TV

Facts I quoted in response to BB's remark about how many KOs were returned for TDs came from here:
Seasons

You guys amaze me, you say not to get excited about one game, YET cite ONE game as "proof". While Stewart was over STs, not a single KO was returned for a TD. Talk about an agenda!!!!!

Some don't even watch the game on TV. Just post emotional crap from what they've read.

For example... anyone who argues with me about poor clock management on WVU's last possession leading to the winning FG... and states Dana was bailed out because Maryland called a TO with 4 sec's left.

What a joke...

YET AGAIN, read posts before you respond with complete BS, the clock management issues I have issue with were at the end of the FIRST half.

How is that poor clock management?

Like Dana said in his post-game presser, he practices last possession plays with no TO's left. He and his team are used to working this way.

Don't you play like you practice?

MARYLAND called the time out with four seconds left after we got four yards on 3rd and five to the UMD 30, otherwise the clock would have run out...............

One of the writers for BGN wrote an article about the affect 108 offensive plays may have had on the offensive linemen.

In the article Dawson was quoted as saying the offense was having more difficulty getting lined up and ready for the next play in the 4th qtr of the game. He and some other coaches challenged the players to fight through the fatigue.

WVU scored on their last possession.

But, the affect of stopping Maryland as much as they did... 13 out of 16 Maryland possessions netted only 37 plays... 13 possessions with 4 plays or fewer.

The article stressed that there was not much substitution along the offensive front. Maybe the gap in talent is too large to trust the back-up?

I don't think it is a lack of talent with the OLine. Coaches like to keep those guys together and playing as a unit. Nonverbal communication, knowing when another lineman will have you back are things that experience teaches. More of a trust issue than having a capable backup.

Once again... my point in all of this is to make sure we as fans don't overreact to the miscues of the Maryland game.

I understand this point. But, I believe the author of the article was asking if it might be in the offense's best interest to give a guy or two a breather... so they stay fresh.

This would allow more tempo... maybe it limits mistakes due to fatigue?

Something to ponder...

Would also give a chance for back ups to get real time reps...not just mop up duty reps.

Our seats were right behind the bench where the O Line was sitting.....they looked a little gassed.

yes, I said that, as an aside to the debacle that happened at the end of the first half, AND, it is good to practice like you do not have a time out, BUT if you DO have the time out, why leave it on the table?

So you don't let the defense get a breather.

In the first half maybe with the swing in momentum the best thing was to just get to the half and regroup.

I think a time out and regroup right after the fair catch interference could have avoided the TD right before the half, we will never know, but with things spiraling out of control, a time out that was not used was worth the role of the dice. The team, IMO, needed to get calmed down at that point. AND MAYBE they don't come out with so much momentum starting the 2nd half.

Who said differently..your absolutely right...he ran the clock perfectly...they needed to hit a big play down the middle if they had any shot of teeing up a field goal so they were going to have to eat clock at least on one play....no way around it..
