I think he'll retire or finish his career out in Oakland on a 2 year agreement...

Arizona is not in the picture for his services unless he wants to play for the minimum or near the minimum.

There is just no money left to spend on the position. AZ only has $20 mil in cap space & the team needs to resign a few of their free agents & extend a couple others. That won't leave much money once the draft pool is figured into the equation.

Also considering what David Johnson did once named the starter, I see no reason to spend money on a RB.

I think Lynch stays for another year and combo's with Rawls which could be a real good one two punch. Or the other possibility is he retires.

I don't think he plays next year. He looked like death walking in the Panthers game. They shouldn't have had him out there to begin with.

I could see getting cut and then retiring. But he forfeits the dead money if he decides to hang it up on his own. I don't see it happening, especially if he is almost healthy now and feels he can come back strong with another 7 months of rest.

We'll see though.

I think I remember reading last year that the contract was written in such a way so that he wouldn't forfeit the dead money if he retired at the end of this season.

Can't see the market being too good for a guy coming off the year he just had. Gore was in a similar situation and only got 4 mil per year.

There are some differences to their situations. With Gore, you knew you were going to get a reliable, team oriented guy, who is likely to stay healthy for the most part, but whose ceiling was only so high (mid level RB at best) and slowly declining.

With Lynch, you get a wildcard who has questionable loyalty to his team and possible injury issues, but whose ceiling could be best RB in the game in the right situation.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he retires. He'll be hitting the dreaded 30 this year and he's got a lot of miles on those legs. There's no doubt in my mind he could still be effective next year, but with his style, once he starts to go downhill, he is going to fade very quickly. Very glad we've been able to enjoy watching him here in Seattle the last 6 seasons. Best running back in Seahawks history as far as I'm concerned, and the Seahawks have had some damn good ones.

What do you mean, "if true"? He didnt say anything, was just busting the TMZ guy's balls.

If he meant it? How do you know if he was just busting their balls? If he's going to retire, then good for him but if it was a shot at the Hawks, then yeah, don't let the door hit him on the way out...

I think he was just being snappy with an annoying tmz guy, nothing more.

Not that many options to choose from. It's either the Seahawks, another team, or retirement.
Assumming he doesn't come back here (I guess there is always a long shot that Schneider gives him his full contract in 2016 or he agrees to say for less money, but I just don't see either happening) and he doesn't retire, which teams could he end up on?

I'm guessing he will:
- want to be on a team in the western USA, close to his home in Oakland
- want to be guaranteed that he will be the primary featured RB
- want to be on a contender

So who does that leave? I can think of only one team: Arizona. David Johnson isn't ready to be their primary back yet (from what I've seen so far) and Chris Johnson probably won't be back with the team next year.

I'd sign him if I were the Raiders to an incentive laden 2-3 year contract and make him the primary running back. Give him 18 or so carries and Latavius Murray 10-12 per game. Having a RB like Lynch would only make Carr better.

I love what Lynch brought to the team for the last 4 or 5 years, but the sun is settig on his career anyway and we're better off with Rawls back there at this point. Maybe add a mid-round bigger back or 3rd down type guy and we should be just fine.
