Ever since he signed four years ago, I always had this romantic vision that he would replicate what Johnny Bronco did, winning back-to-back SBs for the good guys. Unlikely as that now seems, I am not opposed to such an ending.

Oz couldn't have played any worse. Hell could argue with Oz they may have been better. It's not good when I'm hoping for a run on any third and long for the Broncos in the Super Bowl so they can punt instead of and interception or fumble by Manning because he can't move or throw and the defense under Wade Phillips and not J.D.R. in which I said he had to go for this defense to be as good as there talent. A lot to be said about that. Broncos winning the Super Bowl no matter who was QB is all that matters in the long run. Just hope Manning retires because it's hard to watch him play so bad and shouldn't be remembered that way. Hopefully he believes enough is enough because enough was last year. Go broncos!!!

March 8th is I think the longest the Broncos can wait for him to announce. At that point his contract becomes fully guaranteed if I remember right or at least his base salary does. So they will give him a few weeks to settle down from all of this but yeah end of February they will definitely start pushing the issue.

Which is why Elway saying we will give him all the time he needs probably should have an * next it of "up to March 8th." The nice thing for this year though is at least the Broncos know his salary will be off the books whether he wants to play or not. I remember last year that was somewhat challenging us with trying to get DT signed and trying to figure out how aggressive we could be in FA with Manning in such a state of limbo. I'm really hoping though he doesn't become that next Favre and think that because he won a Super Bowl he can still play. Not often you are going to luck into a situation with one of the great defenses of all time backing you up. A lot of things went incredibly right for the Broncos this year with Manning getting rest for half the season, Osweiler doing enough to hold onto home field, the Patriots falling apart at the end of the year, our defense staying healthy for the most part, and so much more. I've always said that to win a Super Bowl you have to have talent but you have to have a lot of things go right as well.

I can't see them wanting him back. I mean he is truly a shell of his former self. He can't make it an entire season without an injury in my opinion and can't run the system that Kubiak actually wants to run. So unless we are talking him coming back for $3 million or less (can't see him doing that) it just doesn't seem like it will happen.
