I'll have to check.
The X1 platform is the service where you have the voice activated remote and DVR that records like 5 shows at the same time. It was after I upgraded to that service that they opened up my speed to those crazy levels. AND lowered my monthly bill to almost half of what it was before.

You got to have cable and phone to get it? Because I'm real close to cancelling every thing but Internet .

No, you can have any of their services solo. Just costs more.

We have Comcast because it's literally the only thing we can get out here. Way too far away from the CO for DSL even. It's Comcast or dial-up out here. As you recall Century Link tried to pimp a fiber service to our neighborhood that turned out to be a weak DSL carried by fiber to a trunk about a mile away. It was a complete joke.

I won't cut my Comcast TV though. You know what a die hard college football fan I am and all of those extra channels you can't get from streaming services, dish, direct TV, etc are so worth it for me. Hell, we get the damned SEC network as well as the Big10, Pac12, and every other place you can find football. No way I'd give that up.

About the only thing I watch with Comcast is sports. Starting to feel it's not worth the kind of money they demand for it.

How is 7% of the US slower? wow.

Not at home right now, but mine was something around 50 download 10 up last I checked which is fine for me out here. Don't use any TV/phone services, and sports are the #1 item I miss, but work most Sundays so NFL rewind works well.

Pretty sure Comcast/Xfinity has monopolized Washington.

Found a new site for Internet speed testing, though I really didn't see any difference in results from speedtest.net but it was fun doing it, just type in speedof.me in the address/URL bar at the top of your browser. Enjoy the graphics. :D

We end up using speedtest.xfinity.com quite a bit as well. It will do both IP4 and IP6 if you have them active. Probably not as much use for most home users.

Since most ISPs for home use haven't even enabled IPv6, you're probably right. I keep hoping it is coming as all my equipment is ready for IPv6 but so far, nothing.
