Gelinas and Merrill...how long before we can talk of them joining the club....I know merril is a bigger prospect but isn't Gelinas a big bucking d man?

Gelinas has been thriving ever since he was traded.

I think his team's still in the playoffs.

He's going to be 20 on May 8th so he'll have to move to the AHL next year at a minimum. He's stuck around a lot in camps.


Merrill: I can't find anything that says if he's staying in college but he won honors as best rookie defensemen in his conference, and as a huge college hockey fan, the amount of points he scored as an actually 18 y/o freshmen ( a lot of college freshmen are actually older) is super impressive.

see its two players that we can keep an eye on i dont think they would make as big or quick an impact say as larrson would if we got him...just think the future has some better bright spots ahead of them then does the center position. sure there is joffenson and henruqie...i'd love hopkins or coutourier

to me Merrill is basically a mid first round player.... he had a stud year playing w older competition, not to mention ill go as far as saying, watching the wjc, tv and one game in person he was team USAs best player we got a steal me thinks

Anyone know what the qualcomp was for Urbom down in the AHL this season? He had some decent numbers.

He did, I won't be surprised if he pushes fayne out of the line up, but hell have trouble if its him or Merrill

Maybe I didn't pay attention as much in the past, but I feel that our farm is the best it has been in a while. I wouldn't say we're stacked by any means, but there are a couple of guys that I see being legit contributors to this team in the upcoming years. Henrique, Merril, Urbom, this years pick, to go along with JJ and Tedenby. Combine that with our cornerstones, Parise (knock on wood) and Kovalchuk, our future looks bright.
