ESPN article today was advocating for the Sox to move Sale. I feel like we hear this every year but if you were the Sox do you even consider it? Very team friendly deal. If you would consider it what kind of deal would it take? Feel free to use pieces from your team to propose a trade. Maybe our resident White Sox fans could approve or veto for us.

Sale runs into a similar problem Trout has- does any GM deep down have the stomach to give up the assets it takes to get Sale? Sale, imo, is considerably more valuable than Say Cueto was.

I'll start. Cubs offer Kyle Hendricks and Jorge Soler. What says the board?

Twins get Chris Sale

White Sox get Trevor Plouffe, Brian Dozier, Phil Hughes, Ricky Nolaso

If by some strange extra terrestrial reason those 4 players don't perform at MVP levels(would be shocking I know). The twins will toss in the complete 5 season box set of The Wire. That way, if Sox suck at least their FO can spend the summer binge watching the best show of all time.

Only problem, I highly doubt a guy as smart as Terry Ryan makes this trade without at least getting a few seasons of Gilmore Girls thrown in with Sale.

Andrew Susac
Tyler Beede
Phil Bickford

2 legit 1-3 rotation guys, both likely ready by '17/'18 and a young catcher who, admittedly, has lost some luster on his prospect-value over the last year or so.

I would be SHOCKED if the Sox took this package. None are sure-fire, cant miss prospects. Beede CAN by a low-end 1, but I think will end up as a solid 3. Bickford CAN be an Ace, but will likely be more of a 2. Susac, if he can stay healthy, could be a nice starter, but not likely a star.

First born child.

I imagine it would take a lot more than the Dbacks ended up trading for Miller since they were willing to trade those assets for Sale/Fernandez & the white sox passed on it.

Sale has 3+ years of team control at far below market value.

My guess is that any deal would have to start with 2 major league players, a top level prospect near MLB ready, another top level prospect, & one or two top 20 prospects.

Not even close to enough IMO. Why would the White Sox want a bad outfielder and a #3/#4 starter?

Shit. Meant to have Contreras in there too. Either way though.

Hendricks is 21st among pitchers in WAR since the beginning of 2015 and isn't a free agent until 2021.

if Texas were to break the bank for an arm, i'd send my best package to Miami for Jose Fernandez. 4 years and 600 fewer innings on the arm, and both would require the top 2 in most farm systems to even begin discussions.

Way to much for any team to want to give up.

Even with Fernandez, I feel there's a level of uncertainty with him just because of the Tommy John surgery. He hasn't pitched more than 172.2 innings in a season. No questioning his results and upside though.
