Well 6 liars put 1st...lol. But man it sure doesn't feel like there are any winners on this.
Most unexciting 1st place team I've ever seen. Horrible pitching, bad managerial decisions, praying our pitching pitches CGS and Houston horribly stumbling out of the gate. Lucky to be in first this far into the season.

Isn't that a sad way of thinking about it? I am the same. They do this to us. 47 years of waiting for change.

Just imagine an added bat or 2 in the off season this team could have had a much larger lead. Shame this ownership is shit.
Or just not made the stupid Kelenic and Ray deals. Still could’ve got Raley easily, only thing they would’ve missed out on would be Polanco and they could’ve peace mealed it with Urias/Bliss/Moore.

Not having Polanco would have been a win, in-and-of itself

They should have kept Kelenic, he’s still young and was the centerpiece of what we gave up to rebuild the roster … And they just $&@@ing gave him away… Maybe he never turns into a superstar but he’s hitting better than anything we got right now …

They had to trade him. Stanton needed a new summer home so he needed to get rid of Marco's contract. I mean a mans got to do what a mans go to do, right?

Sad. But I thinks he’s only hitting better because he’s on a better team and organization… He’d still stink if he was still here imo

Possible, but I’d still take my chances just because he’s so young and could come around … But yeah, hitters seem to forget how to hit here, we’re cursed …. We should look for a buried jersey somewhere at the ballpark, end the curse !

It is stupid but a cheapskate could argue you had to package him to get rid of two crappy contracts. But that goes out the window when they trade a former Cy Young pitcher who would be back after the AS break for Haniger who has one of the worst contracts in the sport.

Haniger owed $35M for 2 years '24-'25
Ray owed $74M for 3 years '24-'26.

So actually that makes sense as well for a cheap owner. $39M savings.

Kelenic staying would have been the same result in low BA and K's and it's not do to him not trying. The end results we're seeing is this coaching staff cannot figure out how to get the best out of their players except for Polanco who's a lost cause. What Kelenic is doing in Atlanta is because they have a staff that understands the game and how to develop players. Here, not so much as our superstar CF has declined.

I agree with this especially applies to all sports. Just because a player leaves and performs better in another situation we can't assume if we would have kept him he would have had the same result. I remember when Brad Miller was traded to Tampa and had a monster season but didn't have great career. I think Kelenic could have a good season here and there but I don't think he will be this great talent that we all hoped he would be. Same said for Tyler Oniell.

Also I know things aren't looking that great right now but I will take my flowers that I am owed. I clicked 1st place and we are in 1st place.

Do I need to make a new poll asking what place will we be in after the Astros series? :)

Hopefully 1st place. If they end in 2nd after that series then season is over cause no way ownership agrees to take on salary for a 2nd place team that has no real wildcard shot

If you did and the Mariners were still in 1st place what would your reaction be?
