I think we are on the exact same page.....just saying it a little differently.

It is what it is. And if we hire Gase as the Head Coach, I will be interested to see what the "post Manning plan" really is. Hiring an unproven Head Coach for a 40 year old QB, could prove to be risky.

I said this last night, but it's unfair to saddle a young or unproven head coach with Super Bowl aspirations. If Manning is to come back and the Broncos are in "win it all" mode, they're gonna have to bring in a Jon Gruden type coach. One with a winning pedigree.

Maybe I need to have another kid. In 2011, I had my first kids (twins) and Denver went to the playoffs with Tebow. In 2013, I had my second kids (twins again) and Denver went to the Super Bowl. Maybe if I have another set of kids, not only will I get my own television show, but Denver might win the Super Bowl.

Tried to talk my wife into another kid for the sake of the team. She said it was impossible (probably because her tubes are tied and I had a vasectomy). I told her that it wasn't impossible, just improbable. She followed up with it being impossible. I'm pretty sure she was just telling me to fuck off.

I mean, if you want to say that, why not question him going downhill because of his poor play in the Super Bowl? The same thing happened there. The very next week against Miami he was 28-35 for 257 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INTs.

The decline really began to show against Kansas City.
Ya think Del Rio should of done that vs the Colts one- dimensional team. That`s exactly why `Ol Jack is a huge "FAIL" in my book. Good ridinece and good luck Raiders if you make that move.

Ya think `Ol Jack a roo might of used that plan vs the one dimensional Colts? Nah, that would of made too much sense. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for Raider fans if he goes there....at least he won`t be your DC:suds:

That's Del Rio's problem against the better QBs. He's so concerned that they might complete a pass that he rushes 4 and drops 7 into coverage, essentially giving them the opportunity to complete passes when they don't get pressure. Saw it the entire game against the Patriots until the game was out of reach and THEN he finally started to blitz. And the defense started having a little success.

With the talent we have going after the QB, 4 rushers should be all that's needed to generate QB pressure, ESPECIALLY against a weak line. If we're unable to do that, perhaps we need some better D-Line/ LB coaching.

I'd agree if Miller AND Ware were rushing every play. However, they were not. Miller and Ware spent a good amount of time in coverage against Brady.

Problem is though Walker when your two best pass rushers are double teamed all the time doesn`t matter how good they are. Therefore the blitz pkge works to give them 1 on 1 matchups where they can have better chance to succseed. Plus Denver had minimal push up the middle again

You see good defenses do it all the time. Those who can sustain QB pressure rushing 4 are nearly always successful, while teams who rely a lot on blitzing eventually get burned or figured out. The key is to keep the o-line guessing on who they need to block, and blitz occasionally to add to that confusion. If you rely solely on two outside rushers and do nothing else, opposing teams can neutralize that more easily.

Actually, rushing with the front 4 is pretty much how the Tampa 2 works. On occasion they'd throw a different guy out there, but getting pressure with your defensive line is the most important thing.

Here's the issue with your assumption. If you're NOT getting pressure with your front four, you need to figure something else out. They weren't and Del Rio didn't. Plain and simple.

I made no assumptions. I merely stated what better pass rushing defenses are able to accomplish. Last year in the playoffs, we were doing a better job at this. Heck, we even got a sack rushing 3 players. But it seems our front 4 may have issues adjusting their attack to blocking schemes that show initial success against them. And we seem to have a DC who's unable to aid them in that endeavor.

Well yeah Walker that`s what I measn by blitz pkgs or the threat of the blitz. If you watch Seattle or NE, they have alot of guys at the line of scrimmage and "show you" blitz at least. Many times they do blitz and many times they drop back, all to confuse the blkg assignments.. ALL GAME long!. Del RIO rarely even tried to disguise his intentions till late in the game. You watch NE vs the Colts this wknd and you will see Pats coming hard and often and alot of guys up on the line of scrimmage. I know what your saying. I`am in agreement. If Jack would of done( like you`ll see NE do) to the Colts last Sun, Ware and Miller could very well have change that game around by themselves. Del Rio couldn`t have made it easier for that Colts offense to protect Luck in that game. It was just pure stupid esp when a team has no running threat at all. Embarrassing game and absolutely ridiculous attempt at some semblance of a game plan by Del Rio. If the brought Jack back I would shoot myself...twice
