Yeah, it sucks when you lose one. I recently was fishing under a long bridge, around the posts, and I made an awful cast. The crankbait hit the bridge, the bill stayed connected to the line, but the rest of the crankbait went flying in the opposite direction.

Sometimes I'd rather have a 16-17 ft bass tracker or something along those lines. There's lots of skinny little rivers here to fish, but I can't get that boat in them safely. As soon as I save up enough dough, I'm going to buy the material to build me a little 14 ft cypress strip boat and throw a 20 horse on the back and hit those rivers.
My dad had a bass tracker with a 50 horse on it and it was perfect for the Guntersville lake down the road here. We could get into some shallow ass water in that thing. He sold it a year or two ago though, it was almost identical to this...

I don't have much, just a small little fishing Kayak that I kind of pieced together before they made such a thing. Rod holders, line ties and things like that.

This is actually my exact model/color:

Like I said, I've added a pole holder, tie outs so I can anchor and a few other odds and ends.

My motor is worth more than my boat. It's a early 70's 14' starcraft with a early 2000's 40hp merc. It's not pretty but it flat catches fish. It's fun to outfish the 50k dollar boats on the columbia with it.

My father in law's buddy just bought a damn $60,000+ Ranger bass boat. Thing is a monster but, like you said, it's not gonna catch any more fish than anything else. It's more of a conversation piece than anything.

Trust me man, I'd rather be catching fish in a 19' Hewescraft than my POS, it just makes me feel a little better when I out fish them.

I use my kayak quite a bit but a few years ago I picked up a 17ft Grumman square stern canoe and on ebay I got a great deal on a two horse four stroke honda. It's a fantastic combo that I can launch on rivers or lakes. It cruises right along too.

...and bama, are shitting or do those bass boats really go for 60G? Cripes.

Yep they really go for that. Some are even in the 70's+. The dude says he paid like $62,000 or so if I remember correctly.

This one's $72,000...

It's great when the girls go out of town so I can get shit done. This 17' Alden Appledore Pod looked like something you'd find in a ditch 2 weeks ago. It rows great!

I sprayed the inside with Rhino Liner and like how it came out. Refinishing the wood was easy...there isn't much. I sprayed 4 coats of marine paint on the hull and voila.

Nice Juice! Looks like a fun boat.

Cripes, any boat that costs more than 70Gs should at least have a place to take a shit.

Not too bad. I see mommy's bois around here all the time with flats boats that cost 'em over $100k. Here's a slightly used Everglades for only 108k:

Hey, how about an 11 year old center console for $275k? I've seen a couple of these around as well for $400k new. Some people just have no concept of money or value. Stupid. They're not even a great boat.

Love this boat! Took it 55 miles out on the Atlantic to Dorado fish and 35 miles out in the gulf to grouper fish.. it has been a great all around boat. . Today we were scalloping which is when this pic was taken

The best thing about having a boat lift is you can let friends keep their boat on it...and in return they let you use it whenever you want. Free boat.

Now I have a friend's 22 Sea Fox Viper on the lift. Sea Fox used to be really shitty, but this one seems pretty nice. The hardware appears good quality and the fit and finish is pretty good. Rides nicely too. It should for 50 grand.

Anyway, I guess the point is to buy a house with a lift. Then, you won't have to buy a boat.
