What I want in return for Gagne

After all of the rumors, the lucky few that are honored to make my list are as follows:

1. Bobby Ryan
2. Jonathan Bernier

(big gap)

Those two are possibilities. Here is the rest after the ridiculous rumor this morning:

Jack Johnson (also must come with a free concert for all flyers fans)
Kovalchuk

Brown +
Simmonds +


Im sure I missed a few, but I just don't want to see gagne go for nothing. Anyone with a + sign means pick, players, and/or prospects must be included with.

He wants atleast what Gagne is making which is why I don't get it. Yes he is younger, but it wouldn't help us get anything else. Supposedly a russian site is saying the Flyers want Kovalchuk. There are just too many rumors out there right now

Ryan is just a guy the flyers have coveted since he was drafted. Now that his contract is almost up, we can offer him a gagne like contract. Plus he is younger and definitely better right now IMO. And he is turning Ducks' offers so I guess he wants out. Also, he is from Cherry Hill.

Small upgrade but huge in the long run if we get him.

Ryan turned down a 5 yr - 25 mil contract extension from the Ducks earlier.

What does this mean to us? Fuck if I know. I'm just reporting what I read.

I don't think Ryan wants out just yet. I think he wants a short term deal 5 mil for 3 years so he can get more money down the road or get out if the Ducks go into rebuild mode.

Jack Johnson sucks. The defenseman is alright, a bit overrated IMO, but the singer is just insufferable. He's worse than John Mayer.

I saw on hockeybuzz(i know shit site) that on the official Ducks forums that the issue with Ryan more so them term is that he doesn't want to play there. They were speculating that he wants to play closer to home so and EC team would make sense. They also were speculating the return should be something like 1. Semin or 2. Carter and a 1st.

I'm not sure why they believe a player who doesn't want to play there is worth that much, but if the Flyers can deal Gags and free up about 2 mill more in cap space I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers throw an offer out there and send compensation to the Ducks if he accepted because out offense would be getting younger and arguably more talented. I think something like Gags + Carle could probably land Ryan's rights since the Ducks would need to replace his offensive production and their D is in shambles right now that would leave us about 3m in space.

and the kings said they are out of the gagne talks..

i have no idea what the flyers are planning on doing right now.. i wish i did.. but i cant even venture a guess at this point.. they said they weren't moving him for a goalie, he's not going to the kings, bobby ryan doesn't make sense for clearing the cap that they desperately need to clear, to boston for tim thomas fails both tests.. i'm lost.

i fully believe he thinks one or 2 of the rookies + nodl will make the team this year

anyway, homer can not be done. we are only about 500k under the cap. with 12 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 2 goalies we are not done.
