Having balance on offense isn't about running/passing 50% of the time each. It's the ability to do both when you need to.

If you weighed 122 lbs and sat on a seesaw with a person that weighed 91 lbs...would it be balanced or weighted toward the heavier end? Those are the numbers of the passing attempts to running attempts to this point in the season.

Belichick understood what was meant by balance when he said they'll pass more against certain opponents and they'll run more against others, if they have to, in order to score which is the objective. Anyway, you should know by now they game plan for each specific opponent.

Again, the numbers are 122 passing attempts to 91 rushing attempts and will be even more skewed toward passing for the rest of the season when Gronk and Amendola come back.

This is dumb. No team say's we are going to run exactly 50% of the time this game and pass exactly 50% of the time this game. Attempting to make it as if it were meant to be that literal is juvenile. Balance in essence means having the ability to run or pass the majority of a specific game based on the weaker aspect of the opposing defense, which is exactly why BB built a young versatile RB stable. BBs approach to defense has always been take away their best weapon on offense exploit their weakness, do you think his mindset is really different on offense? He understands the importance of versatility which means he must have balance.

No matter how you want to define it, it isn't a priority in Belichick's mind when he game plans for opponents but SCORING is. It sounds like it's important to fans who need to understand modern day offense better though.

And? There is nothing wrong with throwing the ball more than running it. The need for an offense to be balanced only exists in the sense that you should be able to run when they expect run and throw when they expect you to throw. This is where flexibility comes from. I would possibly expand slightly to say you need to be able to throw the ball downfield, but the number of plays doesn't matter.

You just need to pose a legitimate threat both ways.

And? Bottom line...IMO...fans are entitled to disagree with Belichick's offensive approach and be happy as a clam with a balanced attack. However, I find it curious when they disagree with what he actually says about balance and want to emphasize it's importance when he clearly does not. Knock yourself out with it though.

You said this:

Having balance on offense isn't about running/passing 50% of the time each. It's the ability to do both when you need to.

Belichick said when asked specifically about balance, to paraphrase: "we've had games when we've passed more, others we ran more and still others we've been balanced."

Belichick said in essence, when they had the ability to pass more against certain opponents they did, when they had the ability to run more against others they did that, and in still other games when they had the ability to be balanced they were balanced. The ability to run or pass when they needed to isn't balance and he made that distinction in his comment.

I swear you have issues with basic comprehension sometimes. Belichick didn't say anything resembling what you are claiming he did.

WRONG...knock yourself out with balance even though he said it was only one of three options and had nothing to do with having the ability to run or throw whenever you want...like you claim.

They need to start requiring proof of intelligence to post.

And they should require a hearing comprehension test because when you listen to the HC talk about balance and he says all he cares about is scoring and not whether it comes from balance...you come to the conclusion balance is important.

Maybe you need to change your definition of balance to match his and you'll get it because your idea of it and his appear to be at odds.
