Go Home Run Heels!
WVU was a BCS bowl team up until recently. What happened over there, you guys?
We lost our only good players on offense to the nfl.
What about the D? Weren't the BE teams known for D?
True, the difference is we are in the B12 now. That is a whole different animal (offensively at least) then most other leagues. Constantly going against teams that throw 3 times more then they run will kill a d that simply is not used to that. Honestly that's what it is. I'm hoping we come around soon, but it may take while.
The Big XII is what happened to WV and Tcu.
Yep Big Boy conferences have a way of bringing teams back to earth. The Big XII is what happened to WV and Tcu.

Auburn and Petrino lead Arkansas (one could make a case for Florida under Spurrier and Meyer) started the transition way before either entered the conference. Offenses are evolving it happens every decade or so: remember the Wish a Bone? You are over stating the influence of expansion.Outsiders just don't understand what it's like in an offensive juggernaut of a conference. Since Aggy and MIZZOU brought the forward pass to the SEC, the majority of SEC defenses have been exposed as well.
THIS ^^^^^^^ I really do believe people underestimate just how tough this conference is.

Depends on your definition of success aTm finished 3rd in the west and 5th in the conference last year and 4th in the west and 6th in the conference this year. This being with having the greatest player in their history. Is that immediate success?seriously I people are
the Big 12 has been underestimated for a while now
here's the comparison
the two new teams that entered the Big 12 have struggled
meanwhile
Nebraska has made a Big 10 championship since leaving
Colorado is Colorado though
but the big ones, Texas A&M and Missouri both left the Big 12 for the SEC and had immediate success.

Mizzou is benefitting from Georgia's horrific injury situation and Florida & Tenn's utter collapse. Still tied for the East title and got beaten by 17 points in the championship game to finish 4th in the conference over all.
In other words don't believe the hype.
Texas A&M didn't have a Heisman trophy winner at QB either.4th and 5th place finishes in a conference of 14. They were not consistently any better than that in the B12.

Umm, Missouri has recently being playing for Big12 Championships(2007 and 2008). Which also happen to be their only 2 appearances in it.
So while historically Missouri isn't a powerhouse, they'd been a quality team in the Big12 in recent years.
And they lost by 17 in the championship game which included a gift 7 points and a TD that should have been called back and Alabama got the BCS bid.And yet Mizzou lost so bad in the Big 12 CG that their arch nemesis Kansas went to a better bowl...
