If you're doing it yourself for the first time, it will probably take a good weekend to complete, but you'll love it. I would make sure I got it professionally tuned at a well known tuner rather than use a generic chip. I've known quite a few others that once they did get their car tuned, they found the chip that came with the kit was either running too lean or way too rich.

Superchargers definitely wake up a Mustang. I've had my Paxton Novi 2000RR on my Cobra for close to a decade now, but rarely open it up as much as I used to when I was in my early 20s. I

Nice. I could have bought a used Novi off of a friend, but I watched him abuse the shit out of it.

The thing I'm worried about is that it's only natural that parts are gonna start breaking... I can't afford it if it's gonna be like "parts whack a mole"

You should see my friends Cobra, cobrabit... It's like what all of us dream about.

His dad bought him a 2001 v6 mustang when he was 16 and they slowly started putting the nicest suspension set up money can buy. I'm talking $25,000+ on suspension alone. Then by the time he was 18 they bought the 4.6 DOHC SVT crate motor and a brand new 5 speed tranny and new rear end.

Interior he has rear seat delete w/ subs and amp, racing seats, short shifter, shift light, every damn gauge and switch you can cram in there etc.

The last things they bought were a full roll cage and a cobra brake kit.

Him and his dad auto cross it, but that thing needs a supercharger with like 20 psi. more than any car I've seen. It's still fast, but damn... It would be ridiculous w/ the way it grips/handles. You wouldn't believe how smooth and perfect it rides too.

It's metallic green w/ a stalker hood (like mine), Cobra R front bumper, Roush Side exhaust (like mine), Saleen spoiler, and 18" Cobra R chrome rims. 11" wide in the back :D

Not a bad build at all and one that started off a lot safer for a teenager doing the suspension first rather than the engine upgrade.

I'd hate to total up the amount that I've spent on it over the years, but since I bought it in December of '99, here are the mods I can remember off the top of my head:

- complete engine rebuild with forged pistons & rods
- port & polished heads
- Paxton NOVI 2000RR (currently running at only 6 psi)
- Aeromotive A1000 fuel system
- upgraded radiator ('96 Cobras had a cooling problem even without extra power)
- Hooker long tube headers, off-road h-pipe, side exhaust
- T-56 transmission (6-speed) w/short throw shifter
- aluminum flywheel, upgraded clutch & pressure plate, and clutch quadrant & cable
- aluminum driveshaft
- 4.10 ring & pinion
- tubular front k-member with coil-overs
- torque arm, panhard bar & tubular UCAs & LCAs
- subframe connectors designed for the side exhaust

I think that is the majority of the performance upgrades. Didn't want to go with a full cage even though it probably needs one, but it is not a track car and it would take away from its appearance. I had a few audio upgrades as well.

I'll actually probably end up selling it in the near future as I don't drive it nearly as much as I used to and the money would go into the baby fund.

lol if that's his daughter

I don't think she'd like me posting her pic more than I have already. I posted one of her over in another thread. And no it's certainly not my daughter.

I know who I'm going fishing with next time I'm in the low country

I love fishing bro. If it can be arranged, I'd be more than happy to take ya.
