His expectation this year should be to actually make it on the court.

He'll start as Gortat's backup and probably get about 15-20 mins a game. Number wise I could see him getting about 5-7 ppg, and 4-5 rpg with nearly a blocked shot a game or so. I hope he pans out, he's more of a long term project but his size, rebounding and shot blocking will come into play right away. If he can develop an offensive game then that would be great.

This season? I can see him getting around 8 points and 8 rebounds per game. Maybe a block or two. He'll be backing up Gortat until he is traded.

Not much chrisp, haven't been following basketball that much, maybe I will again if and when the suns actually have a team that is worth watching and being excited about.

I have absolutely zero faith in Alex Len, I cussed up a storm when we drafted him and about punched a hole in the wall.

Does anyone want to venture a guess about what caliber of player Len will eventually become, or draw an analogy to what kind of player he could be?

It's not really a fair question, and I don't know myself; I need to see him in the NBA. But if anyone has any ideas, feel free to share them.

Greg Ostertag/Alton Lister. I'm thinking he is a 9ppg 6rpg guy who can be a solid bench big man, which is fine for a late-1st Round pick, but not for a 5th pick.

[Should have taken McLemore, d'oh]

Hahaha I almost forgot about Ostertag, that guy was such a fat pile. If Len becomes an Ostertag-type player then we are really really screwed.

I thought Ostertag was a decent player. Considering he was a late-1st rounder you couldn't really have asked for much more. Many late-1st rounders wash out after 5 years in the league. I think Len will be around the league longer than that.

We're screwed because we burnt the 5th pick of the draft on him. A 5th pick should yield the kind of talent that can be a 10-year starter who can consistently hit double digits in scoring, assists, or rebounding. i.e. - Should have taken McLemore.

Len had minor surgery on his ankle a couple of days ago and I just saw on the news that he will be out for 4-6 months. Time to temper expectations even more.

OK, I've got sites saying that he is still expected to be ready for the season opener. Just ignore my previous post.

Wow, that scared the shit out of me. Our FO would've looked retarded if he ended up missing the first month or two of the regular season.
