An overpriced Italian red. The best polite description I could come up with was "earthy." Online reviews were bullshit. Now, after a while, it tastes more like spoiled wine.
Midnight Shark from our very local Thompson Island Brewing. It's a chocolate, cherry stout. We got a few beers paired with food for a beer pairing dinner from their restaurant. Delicious dinner, whether we eat there or bring it home. They go all out on these things. They started last year when many people wouldn't eat out, but would do takeout. Now we're pretty much open but the dinners are such a hit that they brought them back after the summer rush.
This actually went with the main course. We ate enough that dessert and the dessert beer are still in the fridge for tomorrow. The dinner for two take-out option has six 16-ounce beers and two twelve ounce beers and two 32-ounce crowlers.. They give you way more beer with take-out.. They have to balance the enjoyment of beer with sobriety driving home, I guess.
