Indiana Jones is pretty damn enjoyable, they nailed down the atmosphere, the combat, and the problem solving. You can binge play the game and lose track of time because your enjoying yourself so much. The voice actor does a great Harrison Ford. I can only hope MachineGames not only do a sequel but get a crack at doing a James Bond game as well.
Yeah man it’s awesome, I’m not super far into it yet but it’s very good.

Playing Still Wakes Deep now, horror game that takes place on an oil rig in the 70s. Good game, great achievements.

Thats interesting that Rebirth is the one with tons of minigames. Thats usually a Yakuza thing.

Then again, FFVII did have the Gold Saucer and thats the OG minigame factory

I'm way behind the times. The best games I played this year were Death Stranding, Disco Elysium and Psychonauts 2.

I seem to be liking games aimed at an older audience.

I would liked Rebirth better if it had less minigames.

Flip-flopping between COD Warzone & Destiny 2.

Warzone... There comes a point in Warzone where you just get tired of the BS. Its fun when you're droppin with friends, but solo queuing is brutal. And when you have 1 good game with your friends then SBMM throws you into a gauntlet of cheaters. Supposedly they are cracking down, but it seems like the PC players are simply outsmarting them. Verdansk re-releasing sounds cool in theory, but I fear the state of this game is just too far gone and it will be a relatively small window of fun. I find the right balance is hitting this game hard for a month then finding another game like Destiny that is more PvE focused that you can play for a few months.

Destiny 2... Season of Heresy is really bringing back everything I loved about this game. New dungeons, strikes, builds & more entertaining episodic content. They are revamping loot pools from previous raids/dungeons so it makes revisiting old stuff more worthwhile. PvP has been a lot more fun, but PvE is really where this game continues to shine. They have been creating some really fun builds for all the classes. My main gripes are the vault cap (like always) and them continuously nerfing the guns we work so hard to acquire into the ground.

Will be cracking into Assassin's Creed; Shadows in short order.

Great game, but I have 2 “major” problems with it…

1) the world levels up with you. It is actually advantageous to not level up sometimes because it will actually make your enemies stronger as well.

2) super repetitive. All the gates are essentially the same, and the rewards for each are not enough to close them all.

I'm generally not a fan of remakes but Oblivion needs a remake and not a remaster.

I don't despise the leveling system as doing things the modern way has its issues, too, but Oblivions way just comes off as lazy. If the idea was that the world levels up when you level up, there are much smarter ways to do it.

The repetition is a deal breaker, though, as with most Western made games these days.

Most other games have areas on the map that are recommended for certain player levels. That is a MUCH better way of doing it. If you level up the world as you go, then you can end up getting on your heals with some early mistakes and never recover. Sometimes I like taking some perks purely for QOL reasons, and not for competitive reasons.

The problem with recommended levels is that it doesn't cultivate the sense of exploration or challenge when you know what to expect. Everything is catered. Still, its a better method.

Typically the game doesn’t flat out tell you the recommendations, though. FO4, for example, needs internet searches to find those recommendations. As you explore, you naturally level up, making yourself strong enough to face the next area. Or, if there is a shortcut, put a swarm of Cazadors in your way (FO:NV).

Starfield blatantly tells you the level recommendations, but in that game, you can essentially go anywhere in the galaxy on day 1, so it is kinda required.

The devil is always in the details when it comes to leveling, imo. As I get older, Im honestly getting sick of RPGs that gate things with numbers instead of story or abilities.

This popped up on my twitterfeed this morning, I didnt know it was even in the works. I might return it and wait for SkyBlivion, which is a complete rework of Oblivion into a Skyrim Mod. The people have been making Skyblivion for 10 yrs... and getting close to release, then Bethesda does this...

This was on the Bethesda schedule leak from a few years back. No one should be surprised.
