I meant because he left for the KHL before.
I have to say I'm pretty pleased with this signing, $4 million for a guy who scored 25 goals and 25 helpers last season. Flames are definitely adding some skilled guys to the lineup, which is great to see.
Flames are now about $10m over their previously reported self-imposed cap.

We have a defenseman who can be moved for picks/prospects that could shave $6+ million of that $10 million.
Has he been asked to waive his no trade clause yet?
Feaster has said he has no plans to move JayBo at this time, but I think he could sell wool sweaters to desert nomads...

Dash, it's not a bad contract, and he's not a bad player, but I don't think he's what the Flames need right now. He's not a great skater, not super fast, not a huge playmaker, not BAD, but passing isn't really his game... when he's cold, he gets assists more from deferring than from any vision he may have. His best attribute is his wrister and his uncanny knack for being in the right place at the right time. He's got plenty of attitude and isn't afraid to mix it up even though he's small as hell, and he's great at finding open ice and just being where he needs to be to find a goal. He's most effective on the power play and with skilled linemates. Good luck Huds!
Hopefully, it will work out, but I like the way Feaster isn't shy about making moves to try to improve the team. On paper, this looks to be a much better Flames team than the one they iced last season.
I agree with everything Eddie stated about Huds, just forgot to mention his unwillingness to go into the corners, stand in front of the net and usually disappears come playoffs.
Generally he is a good player but very streaky and small in size, good luck happy.
LMAO! I agree with everything Shack said... and let me mention four more drawbacks.
