This is actually a tough question. To me, its down to the Browns and 49ers. It might be possible they both go winless. I don't see the 49ers trying to tank though. They've lost too many close games to be tanking. Their last 4 games have been decided by 3 points or less and the last two weeks have been losses in OT. The Browns have lost 3 games by 3 points and 2 games by 2 or more possessions. The Giants last 3 losses have been by 5 or less points as well. It's really tough to say, but for me, the Browns are the worst team of the three, and they seem to have a tougher schedule so I'm gonna say the Browns are the last to win but they won't go winless.

It seems by far the single biggest factor in whether a team has a competitive future or not.

People say that Rosen and Darnold are the best hopes for the next big things coming out of college. Both offenses run some pro-style stuff. But I watch a decent bit of PAC-12 football, and though both guys have obvious skills, both have been underwhelming in terms of dealing with pressure.

Im usually wary of these OK State/Texas Tech type QB's, but Mason Rudolph seems to have a pro body and arm

I've watched both play a couple of games, they impress at times and they don't at others. To be expected from 19-20 year olds, I guess...but neither of them seem as consistent as Luck did.

Guys like Lamar Jackson are great in college but I don't really see him as a durable pro QB.

Yeah, that guy seemed to have 'it' even as a freshman. Obviously a potential NFL QB needs to have a certain level of physical skills-- but after that, to me it's the mental skills or lack thereof that separate the ones who will make it from the ones who won't. And Rudolph seems to have the kind of poise and processing skills that might work at the NFL level.

I agree about guys like Lamar Jackson and, say, what's-his-name from Alabama. They just haven't shown the consistency passing the football that an NFL QB cannot due without.

And with guys like Rosen and Darnold, yeah there's hope because they're both so young. I think you have to look for development over the course of their college careers. If they show it, there's reason or hope. But if they bounce up and down, I'd probably pass on them.

Jalen Hurts...yeah, he's got the whole "played for monster teams at Alabama" thingie working against him. And Baker Mayfield is a competitive guy but just doesn't have the size for the NFL...Drew Brees he ain't

Agreed, something about college QB's i always look for...How do they perform in the tougher matchups...I think Lamar has lost every single big time game Louisville has played, concerning

On the flipside, I loved Watson most coming out of college because he destroyed Alabama twice, and Bama is as close to an NFL defense as you will find

I hope Watson can adjust to being under center. 98% of his college snaps, he was in the shotgun; already O'Brien has him taking snaps and dropping back. So many college guys never do that anymore.

Yup, he's adjusted fairly well so far......Sunday Nights game, whatshisface gave a nice breakdown of the difference of lining up under center, how you read defenses differently, how all the timing is different, etc.

because they play very respectable defense

When you do that, you find yourself in games in the 4th quarter

Irony being, Shanahan was brought in as an OFFENSIVE genius
He and Lynch have only been around for one off-season. This isn’t his roster yet.

And he knows he can do more with less on the offensive side of the ball, so the org concentrated on populating the Defensive side with talent first. Their first 3 picks in the draft were on the defensive side.

I expect this years draft to be offense-heavy (QB/OG/WR). The defense, while it still has holes (LEO, DB), is pretty solid.

It's an interesting question. I suppose the easy answer would be the Browns but you never know. What I'm really interested in seeing is week 10. Giants @ Niners. They will likely both be winless. Somebody has to win, don't they?
Logic says yes, but for some reason I'm just not sure!!!

The Giants. All those receivers being out will hurt them big time.

What a week for AFC West! Chiefs lost, Broncos lost to the Giants (who had a worse week than Harvey Weinstein). And Chargers beat the Raiders. I just noticed that Chargers are on a 2-game W streak.

I am not sure you can find a win on the Browns schedule. They are getting blown out every week. But they do have the Bears and Chargers to come.

The Niners actually look kinda good. They could almost be 5-1 instead of 0-6. But they aren’t. They are 0-6. And they still have the Bears, Cards and Giants on their schedule.

I think if everything “goes right” for the Niners, they may be able get 4 wins. The same logic applied to Browns, and I am not sure there is more than 2 wins there.
