I can't stomach being involved in a game thread with some of the assholes here. They do not realize a game is 60 minutes long, and it is all gloom and doom when we struggle like that early.

Offensive line was about the worst damn thing I have ever seen last night pass blocking. Dalton had a rough ass game. We had no other WR play last night but Green for some reason. Dropped passes, stupid penalties, missed opportunities in the red zone again. All in all, that was the ugliest damn game I have ever seen from the offense.

Our defense saved our ass all night long. I guess that is the way it has to be once in a while, especially since we had the #6 ranked defense in the NFL. I can't even count how many times Baltimore's defense has saved their crappy ass offense's ass over the years.

This game can be summed up by: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good: The Defense (in general), and BJGE

The Bad: Stupid penalties, missed opportunities, dropped passes, return game

The Ugly: The passing offense (everyone excluding BJGE)

Doesn't matter how you get your wins, at the end of the year, it does not count into the tiebreakers unless it goes all the way down to scoring tiebreaker.

Ever since Sanu went down, our passing offense has struggled pretty bad. What matters is we found a way to win, even as badly as we played. This is a game where we would have never survived with older teams. We would have completely crushed under that many mistakes.

9-6 next week after Pittsburgh? If so, we could clinch a playoff spot if Dallas is able to pull one out of their ass again this week. If that is the case, first time we have had winning seasons in back to back seasons in 20+ years, and 30+ years since we made the playoffs in back to back years.

You can say whatever you want about Dalton Flaming and Kramer, I know you hate him, but we have not done any of the things he has accomplished in forever, along with his stats in general. Yes, Green makes him look better than he probably is, but that is the case with any good WR. You can't penalize Dalton because Green is so good. Green is going to be worthless also, if we do not have someone else step up opposite him. Sanu's injury really hurt us.

I am usually a nervous wreck during game day, but all day yesterday, and even durign the disaster stage of the game, I was not nervous at all. I guess I just got to the point in my life, if they win, they win, if not, I guess they don't win. By the sounds of it, some of you could use that same approach too before your kidneys barf up pure alcohol.

I'll take the win.... Not too happy about the pass protection issues. Dick LeBeau is probably looking forward to facing a line with shaky confidence.

I wonder if Whit was concussed early in the game. He went down and had a hard time getting up. The rest of the night he got his ass kicked.

I saw that too. He didn't look real stable either.

We seem to play better against larger, stronger lines. Those small, quick athletic lines just seem to eat us the hell up. The Colts line always did that to us also with Freeney and Mathis.

Dalton seems to be hitting Gresham in the hands several times during the past few games, just to have it bounce out of his hands, I'm not sure he's as good as people think.

Gresham had 1 drop yesterday.

The 2nd "drop" was on Dalton. Far and high pass.

I don't hate Dalton, but I understand you'd like to think I do. It's the only way for you to justify any criticism of Dalton. I get it.

Dalton is not very good, and he was horrible yesterday. Save the "we have not done any of the things he has accomplished..." crap. There are easily 15 QB's who could do what Dalton is doing in his place. The team (particularly Green and Gruden) lift Dalton up. Dalton doesn't lift anyone up.

The last few games have been really bad for Dalton. He's missing passes, badly, and has no pocket awareness at all (he either freaks out far too soon and runs, or stands in there way too long and takes a sack). Having said that, he's an upgrade over Carson, and can still improve, but he has some deficiencies that have been highlighted over the past two games.

The whole Carson justification is hilarious. Aside from the fact that despite having a much much better team around him than Carson and they're both still putting up similar stats, Dalton possibly being better doesn't somehow justify his suckage. Or prove that he's good for the short or long term of the team. It's just something people are using to try to make themselves feel better. A coping mechanism if you will. It ignores all the facts/implications.

He has a Better team than Carson? Are you fucking kidding me? In the early years when Carson was putting up stats he had a sucking ridiculous offensive team around him.

I'd take Dalton over Carson in an instant, and so would 95% of all sane people. Carson can throw it a mile, but that's pretty much it. He can't recognize coverages, still throws into traffic far too often, but racks up some nice garbage-time stats.

In the first two quarters of games this year (or when the Raiders are actually still in games), Carson has 8 TDs and 8 INTs. In the 3rd and 4th quarters (or when the Raiders have been out of it already), Carson has 14 TDs and 6 INTs.

If it's garbage time stats you want, then Carson definitely is your man.

Given that Carson left the Bengals high and dry after 2010, I am happy to have Dalton. I don't think it's fair to compare them because they are different types of player. Carson has always been high risk/ high reward, a guy who can make the big throw but also the big mistake. Dalton is more the game manager type. You can win with the game manager type, but don't think for a minute we're going to beat the Steelers if Dalton's performance is similar to the Eagles game, or even any of the last three performances. The Steelers will eat him alive if he doesn't play better. I'm really concerned after the Eagles game that maybe it's too big for him. He looked scared out there to me. There was pressure (and I'm not talking about the pass rush, but the pressure of the team situation) and Dalton failed to step up. The Eagles were a bad enough team that he got away with it, but he won't be so fortunate vs the Steelers.

We saw Carson peak, he had 3 very good wide receivers at the time, and I think he had a very good running game. he got hurt, and it all fell apart. Kitna sucked with the same offense, Ryan Fitzpatrick came in to nearly the same offense and sucked.

Dalton hasn't peaked yet, he has BJGE as his rb, which is ok, but isn't all that great.
we have a specialist wr in Hawkins, and a star WR in Green. Marvin Jones is trying, and may get better, but Sanu is probably going to be our posession/goal line help. Gresham isn't living up to his first round billing. Dalton needs to improve, I don't think he has peaked yet, but its clear he needs good people around him.

Dalton > Carson

And a good QB on a team with a crappy O-line can succeed if he can play at a high enough level. Look at Andrew Luck in Indy. Worst team in the league last year. Still have a crappy O-line. Carson just isnt good enough to be that kind of difference maker. Neither is Dalton.

Although overall I'm happy w Dalton, TH was a bummer. That was a do-or-die game, and you'd like to see your QB step up in those situations and play their best ball. Dalton played his worst. We'll see how he responds in Pitt, but for this team to go anywhere he needs to nut up in big situations and play with confidence and resolve. Was not at all impressed from what I saw from him on TH. In fact it was disconcerting. And I'm a Dalton fan.

Did I? I don't recall specifically calling you an asshole. If you want to assume that, it is okay with me I suppose. LOL You just go batshit crazy during game day threads, makes me a little nutty.

Learn how to read. Notice how the entire sentence structure was in the present tense. Dalton has a much better team than Carson now.
