My brother has bled orange & black since the first game we saw at the Colisium in 1960 between the Dodgers and Giants. Why I went Dodgers and he went Giants has always puzzled:confused2: me but he isn't returning my emails at the moment. Personally don't care to get a response until after the season's playoffs are done, means the turds from the north have sunk into the bay

This looks like a good place to put this "did you know" item. I for one had no idea of this, and I thought I was pretty well up on Dodger history.
It was on this date back in 1939 that the Dodgers acquire infielder Pee Wee Reese from the Red Sox in exchange for a player to be named later (Red Evans), three minor leaguers and $35,000. The 21-year old farmhand, a future Hall of Famer, will become a crowd favorite helping Brooklyn to win seven pennants during his 16 seasons with the team.

You're right about him being a fan favorite. I saw him play a few times at Ebbets Field. He sure was a joy to watch.
