They did have the whole year to work with their 3rd. If you coach with the idea that your back up might have to back up it isn't that far fetched to think you want to get him ready to play.

If you know you'll play your starter unless he dies then there is no reason to worry about back ups.

Urban hasn't had to recruit since he got to Columbus. ESPN has pimped him since the day he was hired. "Former SEC coach must be great." Kids hear that and go looking for him.
