i understand a series can go any way, never rule out anything, but from an analyzation perspective, what in your opinion is the current state of the vancouver canucks chances?

i personally think they are not finished, but are certainly on shaky ground, as was boston after the first two games, boston responded well and now vancouver must as well, if they don't win the next game they could be in real trouble... but if i were a vancouver fan i wouldn't quite get my nerves up until then

It's down to a best-of-three series and they have two of the three games in their home barn for the holy grail. Still in a good position, but they need to right the ship and play their high tempo game and avoid the post-whistle scrums. That's playing right into the hands of the Bruins.

i really felt going into the series that the bruins had the upper hand by a large margain if the games were going to get overly physical, and it just didn't happen in the first two, it was like they didn't know they were playing in the finals. then all of a sudden guys like lucic and crew remembered 'oh yeah, i'm stronger than almost everyone, maybe i should use it'

1 for 23 for the league's best powerplay (and maybe cut down on the shorties against).
that's got to turn around in a hurry.

Soft goals against have to stop. that's on Lou AND the defense.

over the past 2 games they've made it impoosible to point the finger at even several individuals, they've just been porous collectively

i'll admit to not being the biggest lou fan to begin with, but right now too many goals where he's moving his body away from the shot, he just looks like he's guessing a lot to me right now, or at the very least hes not comfortable in the net

The EA Simulation (which has been right 13 out of 14 series) played out that very scenario. Vancouver in 7 games.

Which series did they miss?

(im blindly guessing Philly Boston bc they didnt predict Philly would be so banged up)

And my answer to the OP, no, I think the Canucks have had some real zero efforts this postseason and have rebounded pretty nicely each time. They have proven they can win close games (reminds me a lot of the Giants in baseball last year, won virtually all the close games). I think they will be alright, but Game 5 is HUGE.

Tough to call. I think its pretty much a coin flip at this point as to how its going to play out. Boston appears to have been the better team in the series so far based on 2 dominating wins for them vs 2 wins by the slimmest of margins by the Canucks. But 2 of the remaining 3 games are in Vancouver where the Canucks have been the slightly better team. This is another great final series. Once again this is no "Bug vs Windshield".

You just couldn't resist, could you julian?

lol

No I couldn't. :L

Seriously though, we've been treated to a lot of great SCF series in recent memory. Exactly half of the final series in the 90s were sweeps, including 4 in a row from 95-98 and since 1998 there haven't been any sweeps with only 2 5-game series'. This series is already shaping up to be a classic!

I have a sneaky suspicion that Julian is one of those windshield guys that approach you in the mall?
