But this game tomorrow is all or nothing, folks. If we lose, Michigan State has a 2 game lead, plus the tie-breaker over Nebraska........which means we would need them to lose 3 of their remaining 4 games in order to back our way into the Big 10 Championship game.

Thus, Big 10 Championship hopes either live on, or they die tomorrow in Lincoln, NE.

We will find out a lot about our Huskers in this matchup. Skillz don't matter in a contest such as this.........it's all about leadership, maturity, grit, and the overall will to go out and get it done.

Michigan State is led by arguably one of the greatest leaders in college football this year in Kirk Cousins. If the Huskers can rise to the occasion and shut him and Sparty down, what a great victory it would be.

I am so excited, but so frickin nervous!!!!! Here it is............we win, we move on towards our quest at a Big 10 title. We lose, and we basically have to hope to compete for a decent bowl game.

Put on your excited faces sirs......and grl...............this game is bigger than the Wisconsin game............AND I AM FEELIN' CONFIDENT! :tm:

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!

I would consider this a trap game for MSU. Coming off a big game like the one they had last week, and then having to travel to Lincoln and play Nebraska. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if you guys win that game.

We need it.......more than MSU needs it. They can lose this game and still win out and make the Big 10 Championship if Nebraska stumbles somewhere along the road........at the same time, if they do win this game, they have pretty much punched their ticket into the Title game.

Our sense of urgency should be at a much higher level than their's though.

We big underdogs for conference title now. No one outside Nebraska thinks it's going to happen. Just watched the BTN crew talking about even IF Nebraska wins, Michigan State is still the favorite in Legends because of the remaining schedule.

Hey guise. Remember when we were "a lock" for the conference championship game? Then the season started:L

We may not be a lock, but we are a contender. It's disappointing that Bo was supposed to have us in the National Title discussion by now, so we need to accept who we have become. A less than, perhaps much less, version of a Bo defense carried by an offense that has a good running game, but a Jekyll and Hyde passing game. Suh and Dillard left, we become very vulnerable to the run. Prince and the other DBs leave and we become very vulnerable to the pass. What genius will Bo rely on next year without the Big 3?
Anyway, there's alot of season left. I agree that a win is always better than a loss and a win tomorrow puts us back in the driver's seat. A loss just means that we have to win the rest of our games, which is not out of the realm of possibility and yes, we have to depend on others. Although I was only 9, I remember 2001. Nothing is ever impossible in Husker country!

Although I may not totally agree with your assessment, your objectivity on this issue is refreshing. It would be nice if Steve Sipple and his media apologist buddies could be that objective and stop with all the sunshine and lollipops.

i understand the disappointment with parts of our team, but at this point, we are 6-1, losing to a very good wisconsin team. if we were to lose this weekend (i think we will win) we would have lost to a very good michigan state team. i think the expectations coming into the season were ridiculously high and i am okay with where we are at as a team. would i have liked to be making a run for the title? of course, but being 6-1 at this point seems like something we shouldn't complain about.

Yeah you guys are pretty much done if you lose tomorrow. There is no way MSU loses 3 out of 4 when their remaining schedule is Minnesota, Indiana Iowa and NW. An absolute worst case scenario for the Spartans would be 2-2 ( and thats if they fell apart). Im cheering hard for the Huskers tomorrow to help out my Hawks.

A Huskers win tomorrow means that Nebraska and Iowa would be the only 2 teams left in the division that control their own destiny for a division title :) GO BIG RED!

If this happens I'll be very happy. If it's really going to be a rivalry there's got to be something at stake for it to go over the top.

I'm rooting for the Hawkeyes to win out up to that one as well. Ideal for both programs and the Heroes game.

Yeah thatd be awesome. We get Michigan and MSU at home so its possible. Id love to see both teams at 6-1 going into that game. Itd be crazy.

Just a comment... what?

You are saying that the fans were hoping for a NCG by now...

If you look at a realistic chance at a NCG year... suggest you look at 2013 season. You have to take into consideration... schedule as well as talent and the last ingredient... some good fortune (LUCK)!

Just saying...

I would be ecstatic to have a 10 win season this year... anything better than that would be phenomenal...

I still remember crying when we lost to Florida State 18-16............and then being spoiled for the next 2 years.............then crying again when we lost to Arizona State 19-0.....lol :L

I seriously grew up as a kid at the one exact time that you would want to. Here I was 10 years old and the Huskers had the best football team in the history of college football............and they were my hero. But damn was I spoiled by those 3 National Championships. Made me think we are supposed to win it every damn year.
