Well seeing as how Ohio State had their worst defense this past year in a very long time I would have to say that Grinch is just awful.
Ok, on a serious note I have no idea as Grinch was brought in to replace Schiano and Schiano didn't leave so we never got to see Grinch's defense.
Just don't invite him over to your house during the Christmas season.

Washington State is where all these hires stem from. Both Manning and Odom coached with Grinch when he was at WSU and had a respectable defense.

To be fair, I'm not sure Grinch was put in a position to put his stamp on the defense at Ohio State to make a completely accurate assessment. However, our safety play was atrocious(worst secondary play I've seen at Ohio State in over 15+ years) and he wasn't a great recruiter for us either. He might be what transforms the OU defense for the better, but I won't particularly miss the guy.

He has the Oklahoma credit cards, just hope he's using them well.

Like I said, I wouldn't put TOO much stock into this season to say he can't be very successful(he did well at Washington State). I’m more concerned about any defensive coaches that might have survived. It has to be total scorched earth or nothing.

Dude is already trying to steer kids to Columbus. One of the weirder recruiting stories I've heard, right up with Jaiden Woodbey's flip to FSU last year.

Well you don't have a co-DC that has an almost completely different philosophy on staff with him, so that should help. Otherwise, I don't think many OSU fans know him well enough to really say much. I know he's young and well-respected, so he may be a great fit.

Wazzu didn't have access to blue chip players like OU did, and they put together a 42nd ranked total defense this season. So I think OU will give these guys 2 to 3 years to improve the defense to top 40 perhaps top 30. Hopefully they will get there sooner. Just my 2 cents

That's not always a good thing. Coaching is a fraternity and sometimes loyalty to friends gets in the way of quality.
