Yeah, it's his first game back... but that's exactly who everybody thought Melo was.

He takes too many bad shots, and plays bad defense.

First game back AND Dame sat out. Would've thought they would ease him in a little more slowly. Clearly, the rust was showing (28% from the field, 5 TOs, 5 PFs in 24 minutes). He did make 2/3 from three, if you're searching for a positive...

Portland was 5-9 prior to Melo and Dame didn't play. What did you really expect?

I didn't expect anything good to come Melo playing.

Nothing good has come from Melo being in the line-up for quite a long while now.

IMO, there isn't a good chance (at all) that Melo will turn those stats around once he gets more time under his belt... those stats are late career Melo through and through.

I expect him to be a former great at the end of his career trying to contribute to the Blazers in a smaller role. Nothing more.

He joined a bad team and his first NBA game in over a year. Portland was 5-9 with Dame. They were not going to win without Dame

I think we all knew that Melo hasn't forgotten how to score and could help some team.

It's always been a question of his willingness to accept a lesser role. Maybe he's had the same kind of epiphany Dwight did?

And he's been great at that. Have no idea why people on here expected him to look good in his first couple of games. Dude was out of the league for about a year.

He's been good, better than I would have thought... Melo has also been getting healthy against bad teams. Chicago isn't gonna be on the schedule every night like it's Christmas.

We'll see where it goes from here. I'm not backing off my overall prediction yet.
