Alf used to put the ball in the ground too.
Looked up Alf's fumble stats.
2012 - 335 carries, 1613 yd, 4.8 ypc, 13 TDs, 4 fum 3 fum lost - 83.75 carries per every fumble
2013 - 276 carries, 1275 yd, 4.6 ypc, 7 TDs, 5 fum 4 fum lost - 55.2 carries per every fumble
2014 - 265 carries, 1074 yd, 4.1 ypc, 8TDs, 2 fum 1 fum lost - 132.5 carries per every fumble
2015 - 202 carries/0 fumbles
OK, I can see the argument that in his first 2 years Alf put the ball on the carpet more than one would like. To the good, Alf was very productive as well as durable. Jones has been neither of those things. And while he may overcome his fumbling issues and may be fairly productive in the future. I dunno about the durability part.
OT
Anybody watching the Tribe put it on the Cubbies, at least thus far. The Indians pitching has just been insane in the postseason.
