Broncos Fanatic
Some things I noticed in last night's victory over the Cleveland Browns.
- Sean Payton continues to get Mims the ball more. Paid off last night.
- I'm not sure that Lil' Jordan Humphrey saw the field at all. Good.
- Javonte Williams isn't our future at running back. Finish this year with Estime and McLaughlin and look for a stud in the draft.
- A bunch of Lucas Krull sightings. After his training camp, thought we would see him more this year.
- Bolles had a couple penalties. Lucky to not have more, since he was holding on a lot of plays. Tough assignment with Myles Garrett
- Courtland has become so clutch
- I had no idea how important Riley Moss was to this defense.
- MacMillan had the game of his life.
- Nik Bonitto has arrived.
- Wallace has no place on this team. Safety play was also a liability last night.
- I'm not sold on Troy Franklin. He's a rookie. Will be interesting to see if he fully develops into a great NFL receiver.
- Vele regressed a little last night. I still think he's going to be a big part of our future.
- Two picks by Nix last night. One was clearly his fault and the other was partially (tipped up in the air).
- Nix can put great zip on the ball. He's clearly not just a dink and dunk guy like many accused. He can sure look good throwing on the run.
- Broncos coaches have been pretty good at halftime adjustments this year. Yesterday was the exception.
- I like the blue uniforms but nothing compares to their new orange throwbacks with the "D" helmet. Overall, the new uniform package has grown on me and similar to 1997, it's been accompanied by a resurgence in the team and a return to winning expectations. I love Bo Nix so far and the only image we have of him is in the new duds.
- The Broncos have really moved into a new era. Walton/Penner group has replaced the legendary Pat Bowlen, Elway's fingerprints are no longer on this team and Sean Payton is clearly driving the culture now. Feels like the Broncos have really turned the page and onto a shiny, new chapter.
