Feels a little weaker than normal. After the bye we can pretty much coast.

I think Indy will be a tougher team this year and Green Bay at home at the end of November could be a bit nasty too.

Indy's the best team of that group, and we pretty much walked all over them badly banged up. It's coasting.

A week 10 bye is gold. Teams that get an early one get gypped. By Week 10 that bye is looking awfully nice while other teams are beating each other up.

They haven't done anything significant to change that outlook.

Every year is different and last year bears no weight on the coming year, but....

Revis, Browner, Ryan, Dennard, Arrington is enough to minimize any solid passing attack, not on the schedule.
Vikings are the only solid run team and they don't have the WRs to make them balanced...and
The Jets, Bengals, Bills are the only legit defenses the Patriots are facing.

Bottom line..there are no balanced teams on this schedule to point to a tough game. There won't be a 16-0 season, but it makes it tougher to predict the W-L.

No season is easy, but this schedule sets this team up for a solid chance at the 1 seed in the AFC and yet another opportunity for the SB.

Any given Sunday....it is why we watch.

I think you are making an assuption that Arrington makes the team.
He has been playing mostly out of position last couple years. This year there are no excuses. If he doesn't show more in pre-season. I think he'll be gone!

He's a hell of a fifth option, though. Who's going to beat him out?

I don't have that answer but if he does not improve, someone will. He is too expensive to be merely an option.
Do you expect no improvement from Harmon, etc?

He's a safety.

We have revis, dennard, Ryan, browner, and Arrington, in that order. Arrington is great in the slot against small quick guys and browner can't compete with him for that, so Ryan might beat him out in that role, but it's fairly likely he does get matchup plays still.

I agree with what you are saying, JDM. What I'm saying is that he will HAVE to succeed this year. No room for failure....

I just don't see why that ability is being called into question. He has consistently performed well in the slot and did better than could be reasonably expected when forced to the outside.

Actually, it's been awhile since he has "consistently performed well", even in the slot.
The journeyman job he has done under the circumstances, will get him another chance. If he goes back to the slot and performs well, he'll be an asset. If he is inconsistent. He'll be gone.

I disagree. He was never the problem. When you have a slot guy playing man up on the outside with no safety help he will be exposed, but underneath he did his job.

Arrington has position versatility besides knowing the defensive playbook.

I agree he isn't great on the outside, but he can play there in a pinch. I am/was tired of seeing McCourty be the CB fill in when injuries creep up since he is much better at safety. At least if Arrington is forced to play outside McCourty can still guide the defense rather than dropping to CB and have a younger guy making the calls.

As long as Revis stays heathy this secondary has the talent to mix things up quite a bit knowing a top WR threat is locked down. Can't wait to see these guys play together.

Arrington was never a solution either,if he was cut today the only memories of him would be getting burned,BB likes him & as long as he is a 5th option he could help out
