Week 1 is a must win game for the Lions

For a lot of teams, week 1 is not a must win game, but for the Lions, it is. 0-2 vs. the Vikes last year, let down by our special teams. New punter, new KR etc..this year, and no Percy Harvin. This game comes down to one thing - our Dline. D line vs. AP and D line vs. Ponder when he has to drop back and throw on 3rd down. That's it. If AP runs all over the place and Ponder gets the ball out we will lose. If the D line can at least slow down AP and hassle Ponder, Lions will win.

If we lose, this town will come unglued and be asking for heads to roll before week 2 ever happens.

I agree 100%. We've got a tough schedule and need to win all of the "winable" ones, especially at home, if we're going to crack 10 wins and have a shot at the playoffs...

Agreed. I have been saying all along I think we need week 2 as well. I don't see us doing better than 8-6 in those last 14 and that is probably pushing it.

Don't worry guys -- I hooked the Lions up. I had my last FF draft last night and had the #1 pick. Adrian Peterson is on my team, so it is safe to say, he will blow his knee out in pregame warm ups.

I think Week 1 is a must win game for zero teams. But playing a division game, at home, to start the season is a little different than playing The Rams, The Chiefs or The Eagles. Ziggy better play, or we might lose a must win. Rendering September thru December pointless.

They need a week 1 win for moral more than anything. If they come out week 1 and lose at home, to the Vikes for the 3rd time in a row, the wheels could come off fast.
