While we've all had our eyes on Buffalo the Chiefs have quietly gone about their business and are now looking like a very tough opponent. They could easily run the table on their remaining regular season games.

Seems like the Pats will need to win out as well to get the #1 seed with a few really tough games ahead. I guess if they can win those they'll be truly battle tested.
I don't predict the Chiefs or the Patriots to win out.

While the Chiefs look to have improved greatly since Pats and Chiefs both started the season 2-4,
The Chiefs have 83 net points while the Patriots have 150 - more than the other 3 AFC division leaders combined 147.

It was mentioned that the Chiefs have a potent offense, but it's their defense that has made the huge jump forward.

Over the past seven games they've only given up 85 points. The biggest weakness is the running game. Edwards-Helair has two games over 100 yards (100 and 102 in games #3 & 4) and the most since is 66 yards. Sending WR downfield and Kelce underneath is the bread and butter.

Man to man opens the field. Zone opens the middle, 8-15 yards from the line of scrimmage. Problem in their losses is engaging the WR at the line and making them take an extra one or two seconds to take off. Not one of them is big enough or strong enough to deal with a 6' 195# CB or DB at the line. What the Titans, Bills and Rams did was put safeties at the line and have the corners playing back. All three were losses for the Chiefs.

Rushing 4 and having 1 LB to handle Kelce at the line and 6 DBs appears to be a good defense against the Chiefs if a defense can stop the run. Problem for the defense is Mahomes' legs and he can wait to see if someone gets loose.

The Chiefs haven't really faced a strong running team. Nothing close to the Pats'.
