Okay, so this happened.

David Clarkson is a coach for a local high school. One of his assistants works at the place I do. My son's team has the ice after that team. So tonight after their practice I was talking with my co-worker and Clarkson came over and I was introduced. There was a TV on talking about Vegas' start and my co-worker starts giving him shit about quitting too soon, etc.

He said "They're just following my leadership, eh? I'm so good, I don't even have to be there"

I thought that was hilarious.

Vegas is just a great story this season, I keep waiting for reality to set in and they just keep winning hockey games.

In the spirit of the team itself, what kind of odds could you have got before the season if you said "Vegas will lose not one, not two, but their three top goalies, and find themselves solidly in playoff contention at the quarter pole?"

I am with you, I keep turning on their games expecting to see reality in the form of a 0-4 score, but they just keep winning. Gallant is the early Jack Adams winner, hands down.

Team shooting percentage of 11.9% is likely going to drop and it will be interesting to see what GMGM does at the trade deadline (does he sell high on guys like James Neal and David Perron and acquire picks/prospects for the future or does he stand pat and see what the team can do?)
