How about P. Garcon? He's being paid like a top end receiver (he's actually a number two that doesn't require double coverage)
Last I checked Garcon is leading the team in receptions and TD's. This is without Jackson and now Reed on the field. Whats this guy have to do in order to win your approval Sty?
I will admit Garcon is ONLY a #2 WR when you admit that the only person who screwed He who shall not be named, was He who shall not be named.
Deal??![]()
False equivalents! One is being paid like something that he has never been, while the other was named starter ( ready or not....actually not) before the ink on the sheepskin was barely dried!
There is a valid reason for that. First, our best downfield threat is not on the field. Ross got a shot yesterday and I expect we will see it again. Second, not only is he protecting KC, but he is also protecting a young OL. You have to take what the defense gives you. This is what Gruden and KC are doing. Since every team we play is lining up with 7 and 8 in the box to stop the run and out of this formation they routinely bring blitzes, KC is correctly reading and audibling at the line. What you don't know is what gruden originally called. I'm not defending gruden, because I agree that there were some questionable plays called in the red zone.you guys sound that this season is just a learning season. jy19 Gruden is not letting KC taking chances down the field. Yes KC was a having a bad game but to put the Falcons away on a 3rd and goal at the 6th he calls for a WR screen pass that has no chance of scoring. Don't like it at all. That shows no confidence in KC at all. We had this team on the ropes. Gruden plays it safe and relies on an overworked defense to try to win the game for him. Bad move. Very tough loss to take. We had them.
I agree that even if he didn't slip, he would not have caught that pass. But it's highly unlikely that the CB would have caught it, either. By falling, he gave an unobstructed view of the pass to the CB. Moreover, the CB would have had to play the receiver if he didn't fall, meaning that he probably would no have been in that position to grab that INT..I was fine with the decision to go for two, I was calling for it before Gruden made the decision. But I'm totally with Dean on the conservastive play call, especially on that 3rd down play. While I too am encouraged some of you almost appear OK with a loss in a game they were in position to win after the Breeland pick.
Hard to say if Grant falling was the reason, pass looked awful wide to me, but let's talk about Ryan Grant for a moment. Because we won last week he got a pass, nobody talked about how bad he was starting the game by lining up wrong and later with two drops. Right now he is giving us nothing.

idk if he picks it or not, but it looked like it might have been wide of the mark if the WR had not slipped...Alford broke on it before the WR did and per his presser, was anticipating a throw to the boundary.
Sure he was looking for the throw. But had the wide out not tripped over his feet, he has position and leverage on the ball and the DB is behind him. In either case he either makes the catch or the DB likely has to play through him which leads to PI.
The pass was high and outside...Like I said earlier, I'm not certain what would've happen if he didn't slip, but I think it's safe to say it probably would not have resulted in a pick 6.
unfortunately there isnt one to land
I swear, it seems like some people in our fan base WANT to see Cousins fail simply so that we are drafting another QB. Makes me wonder, is it just because Kirk isnt sexy enough or what??
I think again that you are reading too much into things. Sure - there are some folks who have an agenda & perhaps want Cousins to fail. However - I believe that the overwhelming majority of Redskins fans just want to see good, consistent QB and overall team play.
When some of the things the occurred yesterday happen a lot of fans will call for a new QB - it is just the natural reaction of fans (from any team). Mistakes may happen due to other factors & perhaps some of us are wrong in our snap judgements (which are greatly influenced by emotions and alcohol).
I hope that a lot of folks are more objective once time allows them to rethink some of their opinions. Again - we need to see the whole season play out before we can come to some sort of overall conclusion for this team. In any case I feel that this will be a major improvement over the team from last season (not necessarily record wise).
SoCal, I doubt that the Atlanta fans are calling for a new QB today. KC played better than Ryan yesterday. Let's be clear, Atlanta won that game yesterday because the ran the ball at will, controlling the LOS and the time of possession. We had exactly one series on offense in thec3rd qtr. That was a killer. We should have won that game in regulation if we could have stopped their running attack and got ours going.
The redskins fan base, for the most part, are not football savvy. We have been so conditioned by the revolving door for coaches and players over the last 15 years that many cant even see that KC is actually having an OK year. Nor do the recognize that young QBs make mistakes. That is how the learn. Finally, they call for the ouster of KC, but they never think about who will replace him and what type of growing pains this new QB will experience. It's all about instant gratification and short term thinking.
