But there was 8 minutes left to go in the game. Doesn't that factor into the decision making? Of course we were going to get the ball back. 3rd and goal at the 6 and not throwing into the endzone to possibly go up by 8 is a huge issue for me. When you have a good team on the ropes you have to finish him Offensively. YOu cant rely on a banged up defense.

The defense can only do so much and played well for what we had. Going into this game we had to score point to beat ATL. We had a chance to but Gruden decides to put the game on our defense. you have never missed an opportunity to gripe about nothing . again ATL scored the TD so why are we whining about something that didnt make a difference ? they went right on down the field and scored (twice ) it didnt look to me as if the skins would have stopped the 2 point conversion

Yet. But we are making strides. Dean, I get your frustrations, but this team is not going to turn around overnight. We played a better (and healthier) team and lost in OT. We were moving the ball when the INT occurred. You or I don't know enough about the play to place blame. It could have been a bad throw, it could have been a mis communication between a young QB and a rarely played WR, it could have been just bad luck with the WR falling down. But the point is this is a team that is proving it can run with the best. We aren't at the point where we will win the majority of these games, but I'm seeing a team that is not as far off as they were at the end of last year. You need to have some patience and let the team architect (SM) continue to build this team. This may or may not include new coaches orca new QB. But from what I saw of KC today, while it wasn't his AGame on some throws, he looked much better that I've ever seen him.

i dont have an issue of us drafting a qb somewhere in the draft . but ritz needs to get off the franchise qb thing because as i said before that guy hasnt emerged and if you think Goff is what do you want to pay for him ?

i dont see jones as ready or hackenburg , who holds the ball too long

That shows no confidence in KC at all. We had this team on the ropes. Gruden plays it safe and relies on an overworked defense to try to win the game for him. Bad move. Very tough loss to take. We had them.

Dean, why are you always so myopic about one thing every game?

What about Matty Ice just marching down the field on their last drive in regulation? Where was the D there?

What about the D not stopping Devonta second time around at 4th and 2?

Or for that matter all day?

What about the fact that WE couldn't RUN the damn ball all day long???!!!

The other teams get paid too and the Falcons are a good team.

But this loss is all on offensive play calling on that one play being conservative according to you...gotcha

I swear, it seems like some people in our fan base WANT to see Cousins fail simply so that we are drafting another QB. Makes me wonder, is it just because Kirk isnt sexy enough or what??

I'm not trying to bad mouth Gruden in this instance as I really do believe some positive changes have taken place/are taking place with the Skins. But imo I thought he was a little too conservative today and he has been all season.

With the way the Skins have run the ball this year. I'd like to have seen more shots taken down the field. Right now as a team the Skins are averaging 9.71 yards per catch. That's 31st in a 32 team league and they're 1 of only 2 teams in the NFL not averaging 10 yards or more a catch as a team.

Take away Rashad Richards 23.3 ypc/3 catches for 70 yards which leads the team and or next best pass catcher ypc-wise is Jordan Reed with 11.59 ypc. We don't have a starting WR right now that's averaging 10 yards or better per catch and only have 2 WRs, Rashad Richards/23,3 ypc and Andre Roberts/10.80 ypc. That are averaging better than 10 yards per catch.

The Skins longest pass play this season has been a 43 yard pass to RR. Its the only 40+ yard pass the Skins have which is tied for worst in the league. In 20+ yard pass plays the Skins have 5 which is tied for 22nd in the league.

I just believe with as well as the Skins have ran this year. They should have more big plays in the pass game and a reason, a significant reason imo, that they don't is due to the play calling being too conservative.

I understand the argument that Gruden is protecting KC/his confidence, but there's a balance that needs to be established or at least attempted to be established. Right now I think the unbalance might be that Gruden is trying to protect KC too much.
