The idea that Aldridge left Portland so he could be a #1 somewhere else is silly.

Aldridge is from TEXAS. All his family is in Texas. He went to the University of Texas.
And most importantly, His small son lives in San Antonio.

Maybe....just maybe..... he wanted to be closer to his family and it wasn't some desire to be a #1 option.
If anyone on these board is a parent, imagine living 1000 miles away from your gradeschool kids when you dont have to do so.

If he simply wanted to be the #1 guy, he would have taken the same offers from Los Angeles and Phoenix.
The estranged Mama was unwilling to move to Portland, so he moved to Texas.

Don't know how much he will be able to contribute next year, but what a fantastic fit. If he were able to play 15 minutes it would be sick.

I think if he does come back and play I think he'll probably be capped around 20 minutes a game max anywhere he goes. Teams that take him on will probably want to reduce his minutes, but even if he's 50% of what he was, he'll still be a hell of a contributor to any team. Just depends what he's looking for. I think at this point he just wants to play. I don't think he'll mind a reduced role on a team instead of being a starter or anything like that.
