Pics of the new stadium taken last week as they are putting the last touches and testing everything before the opening game. Amazing.

Wow.

Absolutely beautiful. I hope to see it in person one day.

I decided on a cheaper trip to Seattle the week before to catch an early M's game and see the Timbers v Sounders match. I'm a big Timbers fan coming up with my Sounders buddies. Should be amazing.

Are any of you Huskies also Sounders fans? The match is sold out. 70,000+ for a regular season MLS game....has to be a record, right? Only in Seattle....

Go Broncos, Go Timbers!

You are in for a real crazy day if you are going to the timbers game. Hottest ticket in town. They just added Clint Dempsey and that will be his first home game which is why they added the rest of the stadium to accommodate the extra fans. Clint is quite possibly the best player to ever come to MLS given that Beckham was already past his prime and Dempsey is right in it. Record crowd? Probably for a league game, but Seattle has sold out that stadium for friendlies vs Chelsea and Man Utd.

It's a beautiful new stadium indeed.

It would be some sad, sad shit if Boise State destroys it. Whoa.

Yep. It's Dempsey's home opener on Aug 25th and the Sounders opened up the entire upper deck and it's completely sold out. It will be the record for a MLS game at Clink. 67K+. That game is going to be insane, plus it just happens to be against the Timbers which makes it even more ridiculous.

1 - I say 'almost' because we have had this discussion ad nauseum and invariably someone brings up FSU or someone else that made what they consider the same type of jump, however it has also been pointed out how different those cases are. Leaving 'almost' just leaves room to discount that. There are no examples I am aware of where a BSU like team came from the ashes to elite mid-majors and made the jump to a major without taking steps back. I stand by my statement fully.

2 - I would say several schools have been elite mid-majors and made the leap to majors and some were every bit as good as BSU is now and didn't make the jump without a setback. TCU and Utah are the most recent examples.

3 - There is a big difference between the lower tier teams from the Pac and the lower tier teams from the MWC. This was the part I said the post prior to yours from a BSU fan refuted your point. He said "MWC pigeons are not the same as PAC pigeons."

4 - No one questions why BSU plays the schedule they do. All we have done is point out the differences. I know most BSU fans want desperately for their team to join a major conference and no one blames you. Most of us believe BSU would at least take a step back with that jump. Some believe it would be short lived and others believe it would take a long time to overcome it. I'm in the camp of the latter mostly because when a student athlete looks at all of the schools in a conference each school has to have an edge to attract the kids they want over the others. Right now being the king of the mids is a place of strength, but being just another Pac team means you have to attract kids over the rest of that conf and frankly I don't see life in Boise being a draw over any of them. That's just my opinion.

5 - UW and the other NW schools have been doing H/H with BSU because it makes sense travel wise more than anything. Most of the Pac schools do the A B C scheduling for their OOC and BSU is considered an A team which should make your base happy. UW can get an A team to play and not have to travel 3 time zones to go to the road part of the game. It's that simple. As for the other schools in the majors remember that each typically only plays one A type team each OOC themselves and one of the things they take into account is providing different and exciting road experiences for their loyal fans. I'm not sure that people in Bama are chomping at the bit for an excuse to go visit Boise Idaho. However, BSU also only tries to schedule one of those A type games a year and as SmilesID will argue until he is blue in the face why wouldn't they when that's all the other schools do too. So yes, BSU doesn't have control over their IC content/SoS, but they could increase their overall SoS by accepting more than one challenging OOC. That they don't do so is fine with me, but they do have control over that and could.

6 - I'm not thumbing my nose at anyone. I have opinions and have for years said they are colored by my own preconceived views biased against mid-majors due to BYU being given the NC over UW in '84 despite the fact that they didn't play a single year end ranked team the entire season, including their bowl game. I've been convinced that the elite mid-majors have been grossly over ranked since then. It is my opinion and isn't anything personal against BSU or its fans. As for the outcome of the game, you may be seeing great things from camp, but so are the dawgs. All of their ACL kids from last year are cleared and playing at full strength and this will be the deepest team UW has fielded in a decade. Add the fervor over the new stadium launch and you have a tall mountain to climb. Good luck to you.

7 - I didn't pose a question per se, that was in response to blanket statements made by more than one BSU fan claiming Petersen has suspended multiple players for an entire season for a first offense DUI. I specifically asked for some examples of that and asked if any of them were the team leaders and the only example they could bring was a kid who was suspended for 3 games, but he not only had a DUI and got in an accident, but fled the scene which is worse than what ASJ did. Wouldn't you call out people who are calling your coach names based on misinformation? As for some player being booted from the team or suspended for a full season for anything other than a first offense DUI it simply doesn't apply here. It doesn't help bolster their claim that had ASJ been playing for BSU he would have been "kicked off the team or suspended for a full season at the very least" as was claimed.

All of this was addressed above. Your fans cannot claim that coach Sark is "CLASSLESS, DISGRACEFUL"

Here are some of the quotes that are fallacious that I was referring to:
All of that is false based on what has been presented as evidence. On this board you either prove it or GTFO with your hyperbole.

There may well have been some player suspended for a year for something, but until even one case can be shown where it was a first offense DUI I'll keep calling bullshit on those claims. The evidence shows that had ASJ been on BSU's team he likely would have something between a 1 to 3 game suspension.

Was that enough of a response? :suds:
Yes I feel I have gotten a full and rather long winded response sir and it is most appreciated to see you give me your attention on every point and then some!
lol good form Brotha!
Paragraph 1....
You may stand by your statement but I never once brought up FSU or any other team from the past to compare historically, BSU has in fact set a new standard and you cannot generalize us in a blanket statement with other teams because our history has not yet been written , we are in uncharted territory and there is no real comparison yet for our streak in FBS so I also stand by my earlier statement, for you to say you have "seen this movie before" is totally wrong! You have to let it play out before passing judgement... You said "almost never" and "it just doesn't happen" one is an absolute and the other is an open door for excuses... Boise State is not every other team to ever come along for you judge with cookie cutter glasses.... You must judge us for what we have done on our own merit and accomplishments.. and you have to admit that Boise State has been anything but predictable compared to all the others that have come along!. or ""almost never" as you say.
Paragraph 2....See reply to paragraph 1... judge us "when" it happens .....not before! We hear it every day that we "cannot do this " or "that" but we still do what noone believes we can!
Paragraph 3....I still do not understand who you mean, I agree that a PAC SOS is better than a MWC SOS, I think we actually agree and I missed who might have said otherwise, My apologies for the misunderstanding there!
P...4, I am certainly ok with us agreeing to disagree on any point especially this one, it is pure speculation on both of our sides, I just prefer an optimistic view and would prefer to believe we are different! LOL!
P...5... We are not an AQ, and until you put that shoe on your foot and walk a mile in it, , you should rethink how you criticize our scheduling..trade us spots for one to 3 years and then tell me otherwise brotha!!!... I didn't think so!!!! You can criticize us til the cows come home but it is a total different animal being on the outside looking in, so don't even try to give me that mumbo jumbo..it takes a decade and beyond to schedule good competition and we are doing what we can from a non AQ position.. You have to admit that we are getting better schools and especially recently , better than we ever would have before and we are not a bodybag game for AQ's either..... It is actually a good thing for anyone's SOS to play us.. ten years ago it wouldn't be so...
P...6 No Argument here, if Boise had won that game in Nevada vs Kaepernick there might have been a similar argument about whether we deserved the shot at the NCG like BYU got but alas...it didn't happen, we lost the game...some would say we paid some dues that day...most will say we have to play a hundred years before our dues are paid... I say , we can't pay any dues until someone lets us .and it sure seems like guy's with your type of attitude will never let us pay our dues ever.. catch 22...
P....7
WHEW!!!! LOL I posted the article on this thread about Sark's position on ASJ because I thought it was interesting, not that I condemned him but the fact that he decided to keep his decision private and not public is good form! It's team business and unfortunately the young man got caught in the public eye... Sark will live or dye bye how he handles this..... I think he is right to delegate punishment on a case by case basis and if he believes in ASJ, it is no different than Coach Pete making a similar decision. I make no judgement on Sark ..I like Sark and listen to every live radio interview I can but I think this decision may have long term consequences, good or bad,on his tenure at UW, He is gonna end up a hero or a zero at the end of this season..... jmho...

on the DUI... I gave you what I could and I know it is not anything near definitive as far as proof goes but the dismissal of which I spoke was done in a similar manner as Sark has done with his dealings with ASJ. This person was allowed to transfer out of Boise State I cannot offer anything more than that as evidence... social media team rules and respect for privacy limits what I can post as you can probably understand...and I don't expect you to accept my info on the subject as gospel..just that your question was unanswerable in the context it was presented.

Thank you ! I appreciate you taking the time to go back and address my post sir.

I'm sure this won't be the last season ending injury. Not sure about any of you, but after last season I look at the camp reports every day dreading the injury reports. Let's hope this is the last big one for either school.

It seems like Washington is imploding. I hope not, but man. With all these distractions, injuries, punishment issues, a coach on the hot seat, and the pressure and hype of christening Husky Stadium with a win.....

I hope they get their shit together in time.

Some UofW faithfull playing down the importance of this BSU game, but obviously not the coaches and players. The preassure is on, the heat is up, and for those directly impacted the emotions seem to be boiling.

So you all are going to call a team imploding just because a HC blows his lid over a defensive player hitting his QB in practice? Really? lolz

I'm sure he is running the stairs now as we speak, but I'd hardly call that imploding.

As for Littleton, yes he has an unspecified injury. Ever since USC started laying off the injury reports UW has as well and we pretty much never get word unless a kid is out for the year.

Why would you end early one of the only practices you get because of one bone head play. Either something's up or Sark is retarded.

Not because you are tired, not because you think the team is tired (hopefully not at this stage), and not because youthink the team is ahead of schedule (trust me they arn't), We are getting in their head.

Tony's right. 10 days into fall camp and its over for us. We shouldn't even show up on Aug 31st., but all those tix have been sold, so I guess we'll give it the ol college try against BSU.

Oh woe is us. Anarchy and chaos strikes again at Montlake.

:laugh3: You guys are so cute with your idiotic theories.

This isn't the first time Sark has gone off on his team, nor the first time he closed off post practice interviews. I believe it is the first of this camp, but he has done it before. Sometimes you need to get your teams attention. Petersen has never gone off on his players? You sure about that?

I mean they have spent the better part of the last two seasons trying to get Price to full health and some dunderhead goes and takes his knees out. Of course he was pissed. That you believe it had ANYTHING at all to do with the Boise game is amazing to me.

Sad that you all are left to hope for things like this to lead to some kind of 'implosion' for your team to have a chance. I can assure you it won't.
