I have heard it all before hundreds of times ..... and for every BSU fan there are 100's of naysayers, I didn't just fall off the tater truck wiz, I replied to your post which had it's own contradiction and an insult and I had hoped we could have a reasonable discussion. I will address 2 of your points,.....
We have seen that movie before and almost never has a team moved from the ranks of where BSU is at to a major conference and not skipped a beat. It just doesn't happen. You said "almost never" and "it just doesn't happen".... Which is it(1), almost never , or it just doesn't happen?, ....and we are not any kind of movie you have ever seen before, let the record show that Boise has done things no one else has been able to do(2) in "our" situation as fast or for this long on our budget with essentially 3 star or less recruiting, minimal tv exposure relative to any AQ and garner a such a national following.
Secondly, I'll address your "High school level" comment, Yes we have a Tennesse Martin this year but you have an Idaho State . We can compare schedules and I would concede that a PAC schedule carries a better SOS almost completely across the board but I emphatically disagree on the HS comment.(3) You can attempt an insult at BSU here if you feel you need to but you are also insulting a lot more than just us, We schedule who we can and who will agree to play us.(4) Most of that is out of our (Boise St.'s) hands being a mid major... In time, if we don't get locked out from the latest evolution of CFB, you would see Boise State to continue to attract better and better competition. This latest HnH with UW is a perfect example and I am super excited to see two of my favorite teams face off again, but takes time and no one is going to let us just take a shot at your Alabama's or tOSU's(5) , ...not only do we have to be perfect, we gotta be real lucky too just to get a shot at a BCS bowl game much less another shot at a top tier AQ. So we play the schedule in front of us, and when we do get a shot to play an AQ..... we have done our best to make it count!

No you haven't seen this movie before Wiz....you can thumb your nose at us if you want .... we are 1-1 on the field of play and it's gonna be 2-1 come Sept. 1st!. Just an FYI and I think it pertains to what the other BSU fans are implying....
You posed a question about BSU players suspended for DUI's.... There is one player recently dismissed from the team...Dismissed!, not suspended, not for DUI, not for breaking any law for underage drinking but he was dismissed for team rules violation, for ..."Drinking"... sorry but "I" cannot be specific on this subject.(7)

1 - I say 'almost' because we have had this discussion ad nauseum and invariably someone brings up FSU or someone else that made what they consider the same type of jump, however it has also been pointed out how different those cases are. Leaving 'almost' just leaves room to discount that. There are no examples I am aware of where a BSU like team came from the ashes to elite mid-majors and made the jump to a major without taking steps back. I stand by my statement fully.

2 - I would say several schools have been elite mid-majors and made the leap to majors and some were every bit as good as BSU is now and didn't make the jump without a setback. TCU and Utah are the most recent examples.

3 - There is a big difference between the lower tier teams from the Pac and the lower tier teams from the MWC. This was the part I said the post prior to yours from a BSU fan refuted your point. He said "MWC pigeons are not the same as PAC pigeons."

4 - No one questions why BSU plays the schedule they do. All we have done is point out the differences. I know most BSU fans want desperately for their team to join a major conference and no one blames you. Most of us believe BSU would at least take a step back with that jump. Some believe it would be short lived and others believe it would take a long time to overcome it. I'm in the camp of the latter mostly because when a student athlete looks at all of the schools in a conference each school has to have an edge to attract the kids they want over the others. Right now being the king of the mids is a place of strength, but being just another Pac team means you have to attract kids over the rest of that conf and frankly I don't see life in Boise being a draw over any of them. That's just my opinion.

5 - UW and the other NW schools have been doing H/H with BSU because it makes sense travel wise more than anything. Most of the Pac schools do the A B C scheduling for their OOC and BSU is considered an A team which should make your base happy. UW can get an A team to play and not have to travel 3 time zones to go to the road part of the game. It's that simple. As for the other schools in the majors remember that each typically only plays one A type team each OOC themselves and one of the things they take into account is providing different and exciting road experiences for their loyal fans. I'm not sure that people in Bama are chomping at the bit for an excuse to go visit Boise Idaho. However, BSU also only tries to schedule one of those A type games a year and as SmilesID will argue until he is blue in the face why wouldn't they when that's all the other schools do too. So yes, BSU doesn't have control over their IC content/SoS, but they could increase their overall SoS by accepting more than one challenging OOC. That they don't do so is fine with me, but they do have control over that and could.

6 - I'm not thumbing my nose at anyone. I have opinions and have for years said they are colored by my own preconceived views biased against mid-majors due to BYU being given the NC over UW in '84 despite the fact that they didn't play a single year end ranked team the entire season, including their bowl game. I've been convinced that the elite mid-majors have been grossly over ranked since then. It is my opinion and isn't anything personal against BSU or its fans. As for the outcome of the game, you may be seeing great things from camp, but so are the dawgs. All of their ACL kids from last year are cleared and playing at full strength and this will be the deepest team UW has fielded in a decade. Add the fervor over the new stadium launch and you have a tall mountain to climb. Good luck to you.

7 - I didn't pose a question per se, that was in response to blanket statements made by more than one BSU fan claiming Petersen has suspended multiple players for an entire season for a first offense DUI. I specifically asked for some examples of that and asked if any of them were the team leaders and the only example they could bring was a kid who was suspended for 3 games, but he not only had a DUI and got in an accident, but fled the scene which is worse than what ASJ did. Wouldn't you call out people who are calling your coach names based on misinformation? As for some player being booted from the team or suspended for a full season for anything other than a first offense DUI it simply doesn't apply here. It doesn't help bolster their claim that had ASJ been playing for BSU he would have been "kicked off the team or suspended for a full season at the very least" as was claimed.

The reason you cannot find anything is that it was not reported as such, just a dismissal... as for anyone refuting my points, they are my own and I cannot speak for anyone else... I however try my best to post things I know I can back up with evidence or am nearly 100% positive that is correct..but I don't expect everyone to agree with me.... I hated the BEast move and called it a bad Idea when announced and was out voted then...... I am in a unique position here today, as I am a Husky "friend" for 20 years and BSU alum in the south Seattle area which make this kinda awkward..... kinda like growing up in Tulsa,being a sooner fan as a kid and attending Boise State as an adult.... try to explain that during the 07 fiesta LOL!

In any event, the bigger point is why call out a coach when you don't even know what he is going to do yet? They are assuming ASJ is going to play because they also assume they would announce it if he wasn't. The reality is Sark has said they have a policy of handling all discipline in house and have NEVER made any public comment on any player EVER. He is keeping in compliance with his own rules and yet somehow others can tell what he means by it?

lol, I do my share of that as well. I admit my worst diatribes are always BSU related so I often take breaks from reading or responding to anything Boise related to rest my fingers.

As for stirring up the shit ask the zeros how much of that I do.

I care about this game plenty. It could make or break both teams' seasons. It will be in front of a national TV audience in a sold-out stadium. It features a team that has been in the top 25 every year for the last decade. It is a replay of a closely contested bowl game with fan bases that don't always love each other.

Awesome looking stadium. Renovation or new one at new location? Anyway, hard for me not to go with BSU, just on past experience and not being intimidated. But, it may just be the year UW makes a move up. It would be cool to go to that stadium for a game.

The only thing they kept was the north grandstand structure because it was the newest addition to the stadium, still in good shape, and we wanted to keep the same general facade of Husky Stadium. But even that was stripped bare, with work done to better protect from earthquakes, and everything from restrooms to the seats are all new.

The field used to have a track around it. We demolished the entire lower bowl and south grandstands to dirt. The track removed so now it's a dedicated football stadium. Bowl lowered deeper so seats are now right up to field. The brand new south grandstand includes levels of private suites, club seating, etc you would see at NFL facilities.

We also wanted to maintain the view of lake Washington in the east end zone side which contained the old scoreboard/jumbotron and some temp bleachers that were setup for games. We now built a permanent seat structure there that seats about a thousand and put in the new jumbotron behind. Exact same location as old one. Basically 90% of the stadium is brand new. Everyone loved the old facade so great for our history and tradition that it looks close to the old stadium, just brand new.

It is sweet. Can't wait. Seattle is a great place, lived in both Federal Way and Mill Creek for short stints in the last 25 years. Great place, great people.
